I stayed at il Pozzeto for to spend a weekend in Tuscany with friends. I arrived quite late in the evening and you couldn't really tell what the surrounding area looked like due to the darkness. When I woke up the first morning I was pleasantly surprised with breathtaking views of the countryside with the sun rising up over the hills in the distance and low hanging clouds creating a picture perfect scene. Steve and Jennifer are excellent hosts and are willing to go out of their way to make you feel at home. They gave a brief tour of the villa and told some of the history behind the place. Each of the apartments are very nicely furnished, and my room up in the 'tower' was perfect. Unfortunately I didn't get to stay long enough to try out the brick pizza oven by the pool area, but what I hear from my friends is the pizza's they made turned out great.
For those who plan on traveling to the villa by car, then I highly recommend using the GPS coordinates from their website. Most of our GPS's could not locate the address because you are REALLY in the countryside. But this sort of isolation makes it a perfect escape from the city, and allows you to relax and take in the beauty of the surroundings there. I would definitely like to go back again for another weekend getaway!
