“Wonderful all round experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2012

Novel setting, inside a cavern (although there is also a more conventional setting, a lesser sibling of an extension) oozing character. Well executed regional dishes served by very engaging staff. Not the cheapest, by some way, but worth the overall experience.

“Memorable Meal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2012

This place was recommended to us by friends from New Zealand. It is near the Cathedral in Ostuni. The room was an ancient bakery and the area where the baking was dome including the stove is still there. I have been in many restaurants all over the world and this one has the greatest ambiance I have ever seen. Carved out like a cave on the side of this hilltop city of white overlooking the sea is a spectacular dinning experience. We did not come to eat ambiance and the food was just great. Not good, great! That's from start to finish. ! bottle of Brindisi wine, a must and three after dinner drinks plus antipasto and two courses each for $110 euros , I'll take that fare every time being from NY. I have had a great meal in Salo in Italy before this and this ranks up there with that one. If you don't go here you made a big, big mistake even if you rate from Down Under

“Unusual but excellent menu”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2012

If visiting or staying in Ostuni why not try this restaurant. Not the cheapest but the food here is excellent and cooked using traditional recipes. As an added bonus the restaurant is housed in a cave!

“Nothing amazing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2012

I ate at this restaurant based on a Lonely Planet recommendation. The rooms are beautiful and I was greeted by the waiter who offered a complementary glass of champagne which was lovely.
The waiter recommended a beautiful starter of eggplant stuffed with ricotta which was amazing. However I was bitterly disappointed with my main course with was seabass with shrimps & octopus. The shrimp & octopus was so overcooked it was rubbery & inedible.
Worth the price??? No - to be honest I had much nicer meals & I think this was one of the most disappointing meals I had in Italy :-(

“Five Star Restaurant with Great Prices in a Unique Setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2012

The setting inside this restaurant is somewhat formal but the service and people are very down to earth and friendly. Everything we ordered on the menu was extraordinary. I had the eggplant parmesan which was to die for. The tiramisu was also some of the best I have had in all of Italy. The prices were very reasonable, especially since I considered this place more of a gourmet restaurant. This made for a perfect day in Ostuni for us.
