We found this wonderful restaurant and host by accident. En route to Lipari, we got off at the wrong stop. While waiting for the next hydrofoil, we stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant. Great food, warm decor, and, of course, Maurizio, who made us feel so at home we concluded that, on second thought, we hadn't got off at the wrong stop after all. If on Vulcano, you owe it to yourself to stop by Maurizio's place.

We managed to find Maurizio without consulting Tripadvisor as it looked nice from the outside. We soon found out that we were in for a treat. Maurizio himself had been on the same boat from Milazzo and quickly recognised us explained the menu and suggested some pasta. Whilst we were waiting for the main course, Maurizio prepared a small selection of home made bread and antipasti for us. Needless to say, they were all esquisite. For mains we had pasta norma and sarde. Both were superb. Apart from the food, we especially liked the decor which consisted of numerous cool finds from Maurizio's travelling days. Given the choice for food on Vulcano, Maurizio is a good find.
