“Friendly, very clean, good location and best value for money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2012

I went - like last year, to spend my holiday at Anna Platanou in Parikia, Paros, and found the same cleanliness, helpfulness and kindliness as last summer. Dimitris with whom I had good contact on mail before.. arriving and who speaks English fluently, fetched us at the ferry and showed us several rooms and studios to choose from. Dimitris is easy two get hold of both from your country and when you are in Greece. He answers mails and phones and sms promtly. He is himself very helpful and kind and funny to speak with and gives up to date information about Greece, conditions, history, politics etc. His mother Anna is like a mother taking care of all customers. We regret not having seen her more this year, only because she is so nice - but she was very busy as it was beginning of season and a lot to arrange.
We had two double rooms for three people, both with nice balconies, fridge, tv, hairdryers, waterboiler, in fact all you need. We even got new fresh and white towels every second day. If you need something just ask for it, the family of Anna will be more than happy to help you. They have a small garden up front where you can have your night cup or your breakfast in the shadow with comfortable chairs. There are no noice from city or roads in the hotel, and the aircondition functions superbly.

Parikia is the best play to stay in Paros. it is close to everything and Ana Platanou is only a few minutes walk from the Ferries, the buss-station and the nicest little old town and seafront with nice greek restaurants where you can watch the sun go down.
The buses takes you anywhere every hour, and there are small boats to take you to Anti-Paros and to the closets beaches. The city has a beach close to the hotel, it is clean and charming but I never tried to swim there as the nearby beaches are much calmer and more relaxing.
Go to Naoussa for a day trip - stay in Parikia is my advice. Take the little ferry or the bus and a small boat to Anti Paros from Pounta. Dont forget to go to Lefkes old village in the mountain. Naxos is half an hour away, you can go there on a day trip too. Either from Naoussa or Parikia.
This year I have been to Paros, Naxos, Anti-Paros, Ios and Santorini... I think I still prefer Paros and Parikia, as it is a place where Greek life and tourism melt together in a natural way without being spoilt by commercial new times. The little fishermen is still there, so are the greek children running freely in the streets, the peasants watering their small fields, an overwhelming amount of flowers and white houses, small streets, doors in shades of blue and green and most of all a very calm, authentic and peaceful atmosphere, the most beautiful big church and monastery, the very charming little blue top chapels and at the same time a pulsating city that has it all.

If you wonder what to do, stay 8 days at Paros with Ana and Dimitris and family..... and 1 day in Santorini, everybody goes to Santorini and yes it has a beautiful sunset and Oia town, but where Paros is clean and friendly and has tons of charm, Santorini is expencive noicy and filthy even if the Greek people are trying their best and are very nice there too.

Lovely family ran hotel in a walking distance to Parikia's old town centre. My partner and myself booked it a bit last minute and the owners have immediately texted us offering to pick us up from the ferry, which was nice. They also gave us a lift back on the day of departure. The hotel is tidy and the room has everything you need. We were in a corner apartment, which meant we had two balconies at our disposal. The only area where there is room for improvement is the aircon, which was a bit temperamental and either making the room too freezing or not cooling it down enough.

Hi Gary here from Ireland.

I just wanted to let anybody considering this hotel know that it is a great place to stay.

Why is it great you might ask, well here's why:

(1) very cheap (hotel room worked out at 15 Euro a night pp)
(2) very clean (room cleaned every day, towels changed every other day)
(3) great location (just 5 mins walk from the port and all amenities)
(4) family run (much more personal than a regular place, you can tell the difference)

We booked 5 nights end of May but ended up staying an extra night as the island was paradise and hotel so good (beat staying a night in Athens which seemed a bit run-down).

As it was May the temp was not too hot (but still enough to get a nice sun-tan) and it was quiet around town.

We rented a car two days of our stay and cruised around the island checking out the various beaches and towns.

Will definitely be back here again in the near future, thanks Dimitris for a great holiday !

We stayed there one night when we travelled from Santorini to Athens. The manager Dimitris picked up from the port although the vessel was late for one hour, he is very nice guy and gave us so many good advise for travelling within the town. The hotel locates inside a very quiet lane with beautiful and fragrances flowers around, our room is clean and reasonably big, attached with a nice balcony. WIFI is working well.

Comparing with the hotels in Santorini, the hotel in Paros is unbelievable cheap. We definitely will go back to Paros for a longer stay, with no doubt, we will chose Anna Platanou again.

I spent 3 nights at Anna Platanou Hotel and the end of september and it was absolutely worth it!
The hotel is located just a few minutes walk from a beautiful seaview promenade and the parikia town centre. Very close to tavernas, restaurants, bars and shops. I travelled alone but I felt immediately welcome. Anna, the owner of the hotel is a very warm and friendly lady who explained to me all about the town, directions and services. She also brought me 2 pieces of a delicious cake she had just cooked! The room is very clean, spacious, quiet and bright. Nice furniture and very comfortable bed. Also Dimitris, Anna's son and co-owner was also very kind and friendly. He gave me a lift to the port the day I left explaining the value of having happy guests. I sure will reccomend this hotel to anyone would like to visit Paros. It's absolutely worth for the price you pay and the quality of services you get.

We moved here from another studio in Parikia. The owner Anna, he husband and their son DInitris made us feel at home by telling us about the area, showing us three rooms to choose from and giving us a plate of fresh fruit every morning.

The rooms are very pleasant and the house is in a very quiet area which may be a little difficult to find so make use of their free transfer to and from the port. Dimitris drives a large 4x4 and will pick you up or drop you off whilst on the way telling you fun stories about his family or the area!

The market street which is beautiful is only a ten minute walk from the house and the port is a ten minute drive away.
