Paros was the third island that we visited and all our accomodation was booked through a greek travel agent. We were booked in to the Alkyon hotel originally but upon arrival were told that the hotel was full and we would be transferred to their sister hotel Pyrgaki as an upgrade! The hotel looked nice enough but the owners were very abrupt and rude and we were given a room underneath and at the back with no view. Whilst there we were both covered in insect bites. We had been travelling for several weeks when we arrived at the hotel and so enquired about a laundromat nearby, the hotel offered to do our small load of washing - just as well I asked how much it would cost as the owner rudely demanded 100 euro for such a lot of washing. Luckily one of the staff overheard our conversation and pointed us in the direction of a local laundromat where we got a full service wash for nine euro. The owners of this hotel were arrogant, rude and greedy, everything was excessively priced and of poor quality.
