“Great views - friendly staff”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2011

We stayed for one night at this hotel in July so I may be unfair to judge on such a brief visit but here are our thoughts.

Booking was done direct via email and communication was good.

The hotel is situated in lovely location with uninterrupted views out over the bay with little or no road noise. We booked two sea vews rooms which were pretty much 'as advertised'. Slightly tired compared to others in Greece but clean. Shower room small. Nice balcony overlooking sea and pool. Aircon worked well.

Good sized pool with wide surround but it is salt water. This may put some people off - my teenage daughters didn't like it, nor my partner. There was what appeared to be a pool bar but it looked closed down and left the pool area feeling a bit sterile and lacking in atmosphere. Maybe it opened in the following week?

Bar area in the main foyer is nice with outside terrace overlooking the bay. Barman was very helpful and friendly and made us some good mojitos.

Breakfast was average and slightly lacking in imagination but adequate.

In summary, a good average hotel, probably slightly over priced considering the overall offering.

It did feel lacking in atmosphere and I am glad it was only a short visit for us.

Room Tip: Go for sea view above the pool.

Travelling with family to attend a wedding in Paros, we spent 3 wonderful days at Paros Bay and just loved it! This hotel is well situated, right on a beach about 2 kms out of the town centre. We were delayed by the ferry strike and on arriving at 5am were greeted with complimentary tea and coffee and the most exquisite sunrise ever! Booked a double room with sea view and was given a 1st floor room where the view was simply superb, as far as the port ,plus an unobstructed view of the sea from the bathroom! Fantastic.! Rooms were well furnished, with good Tvs and a safe, the bathrooms fine ( no shower curtain as in Greece and weak shower pressure) all was clean, well serviced, with nice linen and towels, the buffet breakfast was really good , the pool and terrace were fabulous, the staff more than helpful and Tchenko the driver was fantastic, lifting us into town for a mere euro each ( its a bit of a way to walk on quite a busy road) and finally to the port at no charge to catch our ferry. We loved our stay at Paros Bay and would definately go back .

Room Tip: Definately book a room with a sea view, and pref on the first floor for the best views.

If the concept of small bungalows (rooms) is nice, if the location is nice also we had a tiny room. Our voucher said '' garden view'' and it was a view on the car parking! If you are a couple be ready for twin beds, and the comfort of the beds is more than average.
In addition the breakfast is not so great with industrial salad fruit and omelette you wonder how it was made ( probably protein powder). Paros island is full of hotels...check for them first.

Wonderful position, staff so friendly and helpful. We were delayed due to ferry strike and only arrived at 5am the foll morning. We were met with delicious coffe and the most superb sunrise ever. Breakfast was spectacular and Chenko drove us into town each morning for 1 euro each, together with wonderful laughs and stories aloing the way.
Strongly recommend and longing to go back.

Room Tip: Sea facing rooms are the best but all rooms were beautiful, clean and had a view

I organize special trips for small groups. On one of my trips to the greek islands I decided to visit Paros, and on my search for a hotel, having to deal with a lot of requests to have all my clients happy, after a lot of research, I found paros bay.
couldn´t be happier!!!!
It is a must hotel on your visit to Paros.
incredible location: very close to the capital but away from crowds and noise.
nice views,
a lovely little beach a few steps away
Woderful staff
incredible breakfast
so clean and cozy
marvalleous swimming pool ( sea water, so that you)
Paros Island is a very small one, everything is easy to reach. so don´t think it to much for location. you will be close to everything anywhere in the island.
I don´t have enough words to thank all the staff and the experience we had in paros bay.
I reconmend it with not an argue. it is perfect!!!
enjoy it as much as we did. and don´t miss a visit to antiParos, a lovely excursion and easy to do, ferries come and go all the time during the day.
happy hollidays in paros and nice stay in paros bay .you won´t regret.!!!!

Having just returned from a two week trip around the Cyclades, I can confidently say that Paros Bay Hotel was my favourite hotel I encountered along our way. We booked back in April and got a fantastic 99 EUR per night deal for a double room and breakfast. The location is a bit from the centre Parikia to walk, but we rented ATVs and made use of the islands reasonably priced cabs. However, in walking distance to Paros Bay you'll find a few lovely gems. Our perfect day was spent on Parasporos Beach (only 10 minutes walk over the hill) with beach chairs and a taverna, then drinks at the Paros Bay bar (very reasonable) and dinner at the restaurant just by the hotel. Rooms were clean, hot water was abundant and the staff were helpful. Special thanks to Nicolay for his well-concocted cocktails!

The only minor thing I can complain about is the breakfast... what a poor selection for those who like a hearty meal. The same kinds of eggs, sausage, meat and bread was put out everyday - and not all to a very good quality. Had we been paying the full 7 EUR for breakfast each day, I wouldn't have been happy.

Otherwise, book away.... it's a wonderful choice.

PAROS

During the last decade, Paros has become one of the busiest Cycladic Islands; in such case, competition has grown strong and all kind of services have a certain quality without loosing its traditional character.
Actually, this is what people expect from an amazing and beautiful Island like Paros: Quality in accommodation and service adequate to its price.

In Paros you can find a huge range of places to stay, between in-town inexpensive “rooms-to-let” and/or Sea side Luxury Resorts. What I believe you need in this beautiful island is some transportation means to take you around the numerous beaches and traditional villages, but that wouldn’t be a problem since you can rent motorbikes or 4WD bikes and cars.

Paros’ main cities are Parikia (East / port) and Naousa (North). It will take you abt 20 minutes by car to go from one place to the other.

PAROS BAY HOTEL

** The Location:

The Hotel is located in “Parasporos” area on a higher ground (would call it a small hill) just aside a beautiful and quite beach 3.5 km south of Parikia - 5’ away from Parikia town center (by car) or 25’ walking (not recommended).
The view from all the Sea-View rooms is amazing.

** The Hotel:

Nice and small reception with friendly people that welcome you with a smile. You can find a small bar in the lobby area as well as a very beautiful pergola just outside where you can enjoy your morning coffee with a view to the Parikia bay, sitting on nice and comfy couches.

The whole complex is composed out of 2-store buildings each one containing 6-8 rooms. Small corridors are unifying the buildings and give you a good access to every corner of the hotel.
As a disadvantage, I would just mention that there is a relatively poor access to the parking area which is not that important as long as you don’t have heavy luggage to carry.

** The Room

I picked up a Sea-View room at the 2nd floor which was a perfect choice. As far as I could tell, all rooms have a private balcony with a small table and two chairs. Ground floor verandas are not THAT private, but usually the area is bigger.
The room was quite spacious, with marble floor, modern furniture and a few non-impressive decorative particles, a big closet (without doors), a safe and a very small fridge.

The bathroom was mainly made out of marble, having a very small shower area. Unfortunately, the tiles were shiny and slippery, thus quite dangerous if you decide for example to use soap on your feet.
Fresh and clean towels were placed every day in our bathroom however; I would buy new ones after the end of this season if I was the owner of this hotel.
The sanitary products (soap, shower gel and shampoo) were just indifferent which means not good but not bad either.

I would rate the room as NICE, CLEAN and PLEASANT. It could be excellent if for example the balcony and entrance door as well as bathroom window were better maintained or replaced with modern aluminium doors (including nets) that provide better insulation and protection from insects.

** The Pools:

The Hotel has one classic pool with salty water and sun beds around it. I didn’t go crazy about it, but who cares if a nice beach is just around the corner.
In any case, it was clean and decent.

** The Restaurants

The hotel has 1 restaurant also used for breakfast.
I didn’t have any lunch or dinner so I can’t judge.
Breakfast was quite poor for such hotel class. The only warm foods served were eggs, omelette and sausages. The overall variety was not that satisfactory, as well as the tight time frame serving it (8.30-10.00)
I preferred having late breakfast in town and dinner in sea side small restaurants.

** Conclusion

Paros Bay is a decent mid-cost Hotel that will meet most of your needs and expectations for the price you have to pay as soon as you don’t hope for a luxurious environment and/or “all inclusive” type of service.

What I liked:

The location
My balcony and the view
The friendly people and their efforts to make me happy

What I didn’t like:
Breakfast
Poor access from car parking to my room

****

Additional info about PAROS:

Eat/Drink out:

“Korali” in Livadia – fish oriented, big portions, reasonable prices.
“Klarinos” in Lefkes – a meat oriented restaurant with their own pig farm, great traditional food
“Mouragio” in Aluki – fish oriented, you seat just next the sea (small port) – try the boiled vegetables and greens
“Yannis bar” in Parikia – The best mojito and caipiroska in the most nicely decorated place in Paros. Amazing tapas (salmon sushi, fried shrimps, fried chicken etc), wine (comes with a complimentary tapas assortment) and the best music in town (mainly Jazzy – French and contemporary style) – a place you have to go.

Beaches:
“Marcelo” in Parikia bay – when the other beaches are suffering from the North winds, the waters of that beach still remain nice and clam – Organized or not, you make the choice where to spend your day.
“Punda Beach” East – for day Clubbers – just make sure you go to the right place with the “round” logo.
“Punda Beach” West – For kite and Wind surfers
“Golden Beach” East – mainly for windsurfers – if there is no wind, jut sit and enjoy one of the most beautiful beaches of the island.
“Monastiri” North – a nice, sandy and quite beach organised (with sun-beds) etc.
“Antiparos” – a place you MUST go by jumping on the ferry from Punda beach (west) – just a few km south of Parikia.
