We stayed five nights at Stelia Mare in mid-September and loved it. The Hotel is very difficult to find, so fortunately Apostoles from a local supermarket guided us there on his motorcycle, which was incredibly hospitalble of him. The exterior was warm and inviting, nicely lit and welcoming. We were warmly greeted by Vangelis, one of the managers, and shown to our room; we were very pleased with it. Our front-facing room had a charming patio overlooking the ocean and was large and immaculate with a modern, gleaming bathroom, nice sitting area and WiFi that worked consistently. The bed linens and mattress were heavenly and we never slept so well as in this bed. Breakfast was wonderful ... an excellent selection of Greek salad, freshly cooked eggs, meats, cheeses (and the special goat cheese made by the Hotel owner's father was phenomenal) and delicious, strong coffee. Georgia, the day manager, was charming and very sweet and could not do enough to make our morning meal more enjoyable. The breakfast meal was one of the highlights of the day and the service was impeccable. The super polite, friendly staff went out of its way to ensure we enjoyed our stay, including making excellent dining and activity recommendations and reservations. All of their dining recommendations were inspired and superb. They all know the island very well and can advise and provide insights into any excursions planned. The Hotel is located just out of the charming village and is a short walk (5-7 minutes). We typically spent the day at the beach or exploring Paros and, when we got back to the Hotel, we were always greeted warmly and took a dip in the beautiful swimming pool. The grounds were beautifully manicured, housekeeping was excellent and unobtrusive, common areas were handsomely decorated with good taste and the building and all of its appurtenances were in perfect repair. There are markets and small stores nearby for guests' convenience. One interesting observation was that none of the guests ever mingled and each kept completely to him or herself without speaking or interacting other than to say a terse 'hello' or 'good morning.' For a small hotel of 15 rooms, this was a little surprising.
It is easy to see why this is the top-rated hotel in Naoussa. The accommodations, service, hospitality and food were absolutely superb and the small friendly staff went out of its way to provide stellar guest service and provide everything and anything needed without delay. For couples, it should be noted that children are welcome here and, ordinarily we would steer clear of small hotels which welcome children. Having children around does compromise the romance of a small hotel. Another interesting observation was that there are security cameras throughout the property. This did not bother us at all but some guests might find this a little intrusive.
Overall, this well-orchestrated team of hotel professionals provided superior guest service and was very impressive. We would only stay here on future visits to Paros and as we visited other properties, none compared at all to this fine establishment. We bid farewell with very heavy hearts as this came to feel very much like home to us.
