My husband and I stayed for 3 nights at Asteras the first week of May
2007. Very nice hotel, very clean, comfortable rooms but the pool wasn't open. They were pouring barrels of chlorine in it during our stay. We were told that it would 'probably' be open the following day. It wasn't and they were still working on it the day we left. The pool was the main focal point as the bar and restaurant are surrounding the pool so this was quite disappointing. If you choose this hotel please dont go during the first week of May. Food and drinks were quite good but kitchen was open limited hours as there weren't enough guests. We would have been at a total loss here if we didn't rent a car and tour the island. We could see the ocean from the room's balcony and their are beaches but within driving distance (as noted on website re shuttles). Very pretty island though! The girls in the front office were very cheerful and Lina (I think) was very helpful to us regarding th car rental, she called and set it up for us after asking us what we wanted. Also we left the car at the airport before leaving Paros as we went to Paroikia for the last 2 days so this was very convenient. Also one suggestion for this hotel
would be to supply a large bottle of water in the room fridges to the
guests as there are no stores within walking distance.
