Location is close to highway, but rooms are not noisy. Area around hotel is industrial and uninteresting.
Design of hotel is unusual, decorated with auto-industry as main motif, but well done and looks nice.
Rooms are large, comfortable, clean, well organised and equipped.
Bathrooms are big enough, with regular size bathtub and all needed add-ons.
Breakfast is quite good with enough variety to choose from in a very nice breakfast hall.
Restaurant is decorated too much like fast food joint, although food and service is quite well.
I was in hotel for 4 days on a conference, although we haven't used any of the hotel's many conference rooms. Conferences seem to be the main idea of this hotel.
Location is close to highway A81, but not too close. Noise from the highway does not reach the hotel. Highway is quite crowded, so proximity to highway doesn't mean that you will quickly reach another point in Stuttgart.
There is no S-bahn station anywhere near, but bus stop is right in front of the hotel.
Surrounding area looks industrial and utterly uninteresting.
Hotel doesn't look brand new from outside, but it has been refurbished recently and well maintained.
It is furnished as a tribute to Stuttgart as one of the birthplaces of auto-industry, with lots of posters and pictures of cars on the walls, including couple of full size unusual old timer cars in the hotel lobby and restaurant. Next village down the road is seat of Porsche, so idea for decor of the hotel shouldn't be too surprising.
My room was on 6th floor, and this is in non-smoking area of hotel. I have also been on the 4th floor where smoking rooms are located, and you can smell the difference from the elevator as soon as the door opens.
Rooms are large, clean, well organised, and furnished with most things you need.
Mine had two separate beds with medium hardness. Pillows were too soft (as in all German hotels), blanket was too hot, and sheets were perfectly clean. Set of commands for light fixtures was in arms reach from the bed. Highway was on my side of hotel, but noise from it could barely be heard. If you are a light sleeper, ignore the highway and ask for a room further from the elevator because it makes more noise than highway.
Carpet was clean. There were two armchairs and one regular chair in the room, desk, minibar discretely located inside a commode (it could have been a bit better stocked), and another commode contained a strong box (which didn't work). Water cooker was also in the room, and there were complimentary instant coffee, tea, etc.
Rooms had WiFi available and in my case i got the password from the front desk for free. I don't know if this is usual practice or my company covered it as part of conference.
Instead of the wardrobe, shelves are located on one wall of the corridor, including a bar for the coat hangers. On the other side of the corridor was the locked door that leads into the next room.
Bathroom is clean and well organised for most part. Hair dryer is available, shampoo/liquid soap dispensers (one near sink, other near bathtub), pack of cotton buds, shower cap - all usual stuff.
I was surprised to find a small gas powered deodorant from Nivea. That was nice of them.
Bathroom also had a chair and illuminated magnifying mirror.
I noticed two things that bothered me:
1. There was no shower curtain, and instead there was a nice looking glass barrier on the shower side of the tub, but it was slightly too narrow so water was able to spray to the floor;
2. Tub had an anti-slip area near the shower, but was very smooth on the other end which is used to enter or exit. Also that side is very round on the bottom, and during the step-down from the tub some people may slip. Try holding on to the towel hangers on the wall wile stepping out of the tub. I am averagely clumsy, and with average age, and was able to notice this as a problem - so it must be real. ;0)
Hotel also has a spa, gym, pool, and other things i never have time to use.
Same goes for room service.
Staff was friendly, polite, and helpful.
Breakfast was quite good with enough variety to choose from, and breakfast hall is very unusual and nice with some kind of low walls crisscrossing it and with centrally located buffet area which was on a lower level so you could observe it from above from the tables and choose what else you wanted before you even got up from the chair.
Bar and restaurant were fairly simple and average comparing to the effort invested into the breakfast lounge and rest of the hotel.
Elevator doors showed some signs of struggle - probably with trolleys from room service and cleaning staff. It didn't bother me, but it didn't look right in the otherwise well maintained hotel.
And now you know EVERYTHING about this hotel. :0)
