“The Restaurant is fantastic, top class”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013

We ate dinner in the restaurant of this Hotel with friends and it was fabulous. The hotel is very beautiful and the lounge up stairs has comfy couches with interesting art work where we had pre dinner drinks and relaxed after a day of sight seeing. The Town is wonderful with beautiful winding streets and allee's lined with lovely shops.
The restaurant is in an old Olive mill setting and has the old press and grinding stones although the decor has a bright and modern twist.
Dinner was amazing, the service a tad slow as there appeared to be only 2 waiters who served and carved at table as well as being wine waiters. The food was perfect....absolutely delicious and wonderful on the eye.I would have like a desert but after such generous portions with both the entree' and the maincourse alas I had to pass. It was a truly enjoyable gastronomic experience. We had a great evening.

The stay was Ok except for the rooms too cold for winter and no heavy blankets to compensate.
Wonderful morning staff. Evening staff is a obnoxious, with a special mention to the runner of the restaurant who is more profound to pursue a career in boxing than servicing consumers!

We stayed just one night in the hotel. We booked it through a website at a discounted price. In this period not a lot of hotels are opened. Service is great and very different that you would expect in France. The restaurant of the hotel was closed but the reception personnel helped us find a nice dinner place. Our room was located at the side of the town on the second floor and my wife was wakened up regularly by the sound of the church clocks. Beds were good but the cover seemed to be a bit small... Breaksfast was OK.

Le Moulin de Lourmarin was a great find. This town is known as one of the most beautiful villages in France. You realize this as you drive up.
The hotel is in the center of town and all the rooms are different. We had a deluxe room on the third floor with a balcony that overlooked the park. This was so relaxing and it was a beautiful room. The staff were so helpful and friendly. This was a great spot to stay and drive to the hill towns in the area.

Room Tip: Ask to see the rooms in advance before reserving.

First of all, Lourmarin is definitely worth visiting. The old part of town with narrow little streets is charming, filled with restaurants and shops, and the chateau, the market etc. are worth some time.

The hotel is very centrally located and the front desk staff were exceptionally friendly, both in checking in, checking out and in between. We had not realized the check-out time was 11 am and when we were running late, they called with a very friendly reminder.

I had selected a superior room, so we found the room to be quite large, with 2 big windows overlooking trees and park. It was quiet, cool (air conditioning worked perfectly), and nicely furnished with 2 overstuffed chairs and desk in addition to the usual furniture, lots of closet space too. The bathroom was fine, not quite as modern as the room, but in good condition and more than adequate. There is free wifi but it only works in the public spaces -- which turned out fine, because there is a very comfortable lounge area on the mezzanine (above the lobby) that was an extremely comfortable place to do email. We had a very comfortable rest in the late afternoon and a very comfortable night's sleep. We would definitely stay there again.

We had both dinner and breakfast in the dining room. We liked the dining room atmosphere and enjoyed the meal, but we agreed that it did not quite live up to the advertising on the website. The meal was good enough and reasonable value, but it couldn't really compete with meals we'd eaten elsewhere in the region. Next time we'll try one of the restaurants in town. Breakfast was good the next morning - the room is very light in the morning and the buffet was very nice. But I think as someone noted in another review, it did have a number of "packaged" things that in other hotels were presented in a more personal, prettier way. The server was attentive to our needs and the breads and pastries were terrific, including some items that must be local specialties since we'd never seen them before.

That morning was market day in Lourmarin and the hotel is perfectly situated....the market starts just a block away!

We stayed in several hotels in this part of the South. This was the best. No restaurant, but breakfast in the courtyard was lovely. The views from our room were great. The staff were very kind and helpful especially considering our poor French. The best bit is the location in the village, a short walk from the antique market, and restaurants and it being Saturday a great band in the square.

We ate in the restaurant twice when staying in Lourmarin; it was good on both occasions and the staff were nice. Lovely room. It is similarly priced to other resturants in Lourmarin - two courses 26 euros, three courses 34 euros.
