We stayed here in late February. Extended weekend visit from our hectic working lives in Beirut. It provided everything we were looking for. The staff were very friendly and polite. We didn't take the evening meal but ate out. The breakfast was sufficient. They provide hot breakfast which you have to order with the chef. The cottages are located within a short walk or down the hill, depending which one you're given. We originally only booked a studio but were given a huge 2 bedroom apartment with separate entrance/kitchen area. The conditions are rather minimalist/simplistic but very cute and even refreshing to experience the stone cottage feeling. There was a lovely patio out front and small sun lounge out back (which we didn't really use). The two resident cats are very cute and respectful. They didn't enter the house! Tochni village is small and picturesque. You can drive up into the hills (20-30 mins) or down to the Governer's beach (15 mins). There are no rude interruptions by cleaning staff which was very important for us. It felt like a real isolated getaway in your own apartment.
Main negative points were that the hair dryer didn't work and the internet in our flat was intermittent, but this maybe varies depending on which room/flat you get. The evening we arrived we didn't have heating or hot water either and it was already too late to make a fuss or remind someone. But perhaps this was due to it being off-season and the weather, being sunny in the day but still a little chilly in the evenings. The remainder of the trip we had hot water (I'm assuming they switched it on as there were other holiday-goers by this point) but the central heating again was not sufficient. We had to use the AC on heat!
It's definitely worth hiring a car, as this place is a little out of the way and it's nice to have the freedom to travel while using this as a base. Hope this helps others plan their trip :)
