I visited the restaurant on a friday night. Since the summer season has not started yet, there were only two more tables occupied for a total of about 10 guests.
The restaurant itself is very well furnished and the design that went into it works. My only gripe would be with the waterfall, whose noise got old pretty quickly.
We could order the 25€, 3 course menu. It was preceded by two small snacks, some olives and some homemade crisps, which were a bit too salty for my taste, but get brownie points for the effort.
The first course was a cold appetizer of crayfish and a spanish pasta. The tomato sauce was very tasty and worked really nicely on the great texture of the pasta. The crayfish was also tasty.
Second course was the soup of the day, and we were served a simple but nice leek soup. Here happened the only mishap with service, when the waitress spilled a little of my soup, but she was not helped by the shape of the plate either. Noone was hurt so definitely not a serious problem.
Last and main course was an excellent steak of flemish beef, served with 4 or 5 different purees and some roasted potatoes. Again, it was quite simple but it all went very well together. The beef was cooked as requested.
The real treat for me were the homemade breadrolls which were absolutely delicious. After the fourth me and my girlfriend had to ask the waitress to stop serving them, or we'd have not been able to finish our meal!
We had a small bottle of wine (I had to drive so I could not afford more than one glass) and a large bottle of water, and the total bill came at 84€.
I believe it was fairly priced and you could tell there is some serious commitment to quality. I would recommend it to anyone who finds themselves in the area and would like a special night out, or is simply sick of the mediocre touristy restaurants that haunt the Belgian coast.
