“Find somewhere else”

We camped at this site 4 years ago in our brand new pristine Hobby, was a nice stopover for visit into Brugges at that time. On last visit Sept 2013 the wife and I found it a totaly different site, the whole area is surrounded by rubbish tips, dog poo, which epitomized the dog owners neglect, and derelict caravans/pitches all rotten and left to let nature take it`s course. We were also as with other Caravan Club members of the impression that this site was being run for the benefit of East European market traders, the centre pitches appeared to be reserved for these people to carry out there day to day business which ment they had heavy goods vehicles delivering sales goods at any hour of the day or night thus disrupting the peace and tranquillity that touring visitors desire. The ablutions to say the least left a lot to be desired and thankfully for the campers who had more modern outfits we did not have to venture into the abyss. To sum up if I was a dog owner I would not even let my dog stay there. C C and C and C members give it a wide berth.

Very spacious plots for motorhomes. We went out of season, but bars and restaurants were open. the small town of Jabekke has a few restaurants, bars and 2 supermarkets, all within 15 mins walk of site. We bought a 10 ride bus ticket for 10 euros, this made the 25 min bus ride to Brugees 1 euro each way!!! (Dogs are welcome on the bus )

Our last stop on a 3 week holiday across Europe and definitely our worst site. We booked on location which was great for Bruges and the WW1 sites, also only an hour from Calais. Sadly the site itself was a poor choice. On paper it looked great but in reality... The first night we could find nowhere open -apparently normal one night each week for Dolphin Club but we could find no one around at main restaraunt or shop despite signage saying 'open'. Main eatery/bar often had children helping behind the bar and on both occasions we were there they had no change - on one occasion change was got from staff's own wallet and the other we were kept waiting 15 minutes whilst staff disappeared to find coinage. The site needs much repair - paths are pot holed and walls need large cracks filling and painting. Sadly it has potentially good facilities but needs lots of money spending to bring it up to date and clean. Cigarette stubs and general litter are everywhere. Our pitch was near the Dolphin Bar. The first night was fine, but from then on we were kept awake til after 2am. There were fights outside the bar on 2 nights and drunk loud campers every night. Our children were woken up and we struggled to sleep. The sight as far as we could see had no night security. Sadly a stressful end to a great holiday. Positives good size pitches and helpful reception staff.

This was the first campsite we'd ever stayed on in Europe and we were pleased. It was a boon to have free wifi, which gave us high expectations not met by subsequent campsites.

The on site cafe was fine for a cup of coffee.

The facilities were fine for chemical waste, and my husband said the toilet block was also fine.

Most pitches seemed to be of the superpitch style with water and waste.

It's a short walk to get the bus to Bruges, although this was very crowded but cheap.

Although you can hear the noise from the motorway it was not to disturbing.
The site was still quiet when we stayed on the touring park but the bar / takeaway was open and we did pop in staff friendly normal prices.
The toilet block was clean and the showers did have hot water activated by fob.
5 euros is paid for the fob on arrival and after a total of 4 showers we had just over 2 euros refunded.
Washing up point is very open to the elements and waster pressure poor again fob is required for hot water.
A number of pitches were cordoned off for maintenance and new grass seed had been laid pitches are good size and segregated by low hedges.
Brugge is easy to visit by local buses reception do have time tables.
There are 2 supermarkets and other small bars / shops in the village which is a 5 minute stroll.
Overall excellent stop over and easy to find using sat nav.

We stayed for one night 4 april 2013 on a touring pitch.
There is a lot of road noise from the nearby motorway and light aircraft noise.
The sanitary block was disgusting. The flushes in the loos didn't work and possibly hadn't for some time. The showers were too dirty to use.

5 family members camped with 2 pitches, the staff were brilliant and gave us adjoining pitches as we requested we were very near the children's pool which was fab as we had a 5 yr old with us. the toilet and shower facilities are 2nd to non clean and spacious. there are speed bumps slowing traffic for children and plenty of signs to. I love the fact that you have to swipe a pass to get in for added safety and piece of mind. the on site restaurant and café/bar are very good and reasonable priced. we are returning this year which is a recommendation in it's self

Room Tip: if you have small children try for near the playpark
