“Not worth the money”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2012

Stayed there in our motorhome for four nights in July 2012.
1.no entertainment.
2.staff in dolphin bar not very welcoming.
3.staff in other bar, kids behind the bar.
4.smoking allowed in public areas!!
5.one toilet block/showers for the whole camp(expect to wash in a dirty sink or shower)
6.to shower you have to buy credits from reception.
7.wi-fi is not free, again access from reception and charges are hourly.
8.location of Site is bang in the middle of industrial Site.
9.avoid the bar/tea room outside the camp, staff miserable and rude.
10.waste disposal miles away.
11.be prepared to hook up your electricity on what also is a water tap!!!
12.shop stocks very unlimited items(instant coffee,forget it).
13.the Site advertises a market and it will take you seconds to view.
14.to sum up,boring, dirty and too expensive.

Room Tip: Avoid like the plague

We stayed here for two nights with our touring caravan. The staff on reception were helpful and friendly, but less so in other parts of the campsite. No idea if the Dolphin bar serves food, there were no obvious signs, and the staff pretty much ignored us. Glad not to eat there anyway as the other customers were all smoking like chimneys. Similarly in the chip shop next door - no idea if they were open, signage not at all helpful and staff ignored us. Eventually got a takeaway from the chinese restaurant on the other part of the campsite, they aren't used to doing take-out I assume, because the only place to perch while waiting was the edge of the large goldfish pond in the restaurant. The camp pitches themselves were fine, plenty of space and hedged on at least two sides, easy access to tap and power hook up. A bit weird how many of the pitches were permanently occupied by caravans though - with their own garden sheds, fences, garden gnomes etc. and not a soul in sight - a bit like a caravan ghost town. Toilet block was good, clean and plenty of facilities, but again signage was an issue. No idea how to work the laundry machines, how much it cost, whether you needed tokens and where to get them from. No idea where to dispose of grey water, and the chemical loo disposal was a bit gross. I wouldn't recommend staying here.
