We went to re trace my fathers path during the war. He hadn't talked much about it but one thing was that he was in the Battle of the Budge and was held up in an old farm house in Belgium, while waiting for further orders. Our Journey began here in St. Vith a very quaint little town where there was quite a bit of information. The information center had a map of several monuments and information that took place during World War II. The museum was like walking onto a set in a movie. Old jeeps and old BMW motorcycle. It really hit home when the music started to play a song that my dad use to sing. Even though it was all so authenic I knew that I could never begin to imagine what he had experienced.
Our stay was very nice with a wonderful room nicely decorated and even lace curtains with windows that opened in to capture the night breeze. Breakfast was included and was a friendly atmosphere.
