“Loved it! Super Park!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2013

Stayed for 1 week with our 9 year old son. Journey (via Brussels) on the way down was awful, (7 hours), although it was a Friday afternoon. However, once we arrived at the park we soon relaxed and after a good nights sleep, we were all fully recovered.

There was lots of activities for our son. He especially enjoyed the 'Aqua Mundo'/Water World! He took part in the Wild Water Rafting session and a games session on another occasion. He also did the Lazer Battle activity twice and came back covered in mud and dirt and loved every minute of it. He also did the 'Big Swing' activity and was harnessed up approx. 13 metres and (safely) swung in the air!

All the staff at the park were extremely friendly and helpful! A big 'thank you' to all of them! They have lots of time for you. Great customer service everywhere you went!

We hired bikes for the week as well and it just made the whole experience very relaxing. We cycled everywhere and the cycle paths are very well planned out and easy to follow. We forgot to bring our son's cycle helmet, but they just gave us a hire one for no extra charge!

We also opted for 4 nights evening meals and would say that there was lots of choice of meats, salad and vegetables, so I would say that they are good value and also save you the bother of cooking. Although, the cottage was fully equipped and extremely clean to prepare and cook food in, so the choice is yours! The food shop in the centre was well stocked. Although, if you drive into Peer, you will see a big (cheaper) supermarket right by the roundabout.

Our return journey was much better, only 3.5 hours (via Brussels) to the Eurotunnel, although we did leave at 6.30am.

Overall, I cannot fault the holiday break at all! We would love to return next year. We have returned fully refreshed and relaxed!

Spent a great weekend here. Had a nightmare journey down (Antwerp was a nightmare) but that was forgotten by Saturday afternoon!

Our villa was lovely, a VIP lodge, no 515 just a couple of minutes walk from all the main attractions. It's well worth investigating the price difference as we found by the time bedding was added on (compulsory), towel packs, you brought kitchen equipment etc, it basically negated the price difference. Especially when you consider the daily goody bag included from the bakery which appears every morning by 8am. Only downside was the cleaner forgot to take out the leftover food from the fridge in spite of it having being cleaned.

Alo included is a whirlpool bath and sauna and a senseo coffee machine which saves spending a fortune on coffee at the cafe!

The pool was fantastic, a great baby and separate toddler area. The usual wave pool and slides. Lazy river, scramble pools and a diving pool with fish tanks outside to look at. Including one of piranhas! One very obsessed five year old here!

Great soft play centre, slightly different to UK ones which was good alongside the small farm too. The goats are loose so don't take any food :-D

Room Tip: Choose a VIP room as by the time you take into account discounts (don't forget the young child o...

Myself, my wife and our 6 year son stopped in a comfort lodge for a week at the end of March 2013.

I was a little doubtful it would be to the same standard as the UK sites as it was so much cheaper during Easter (600 Euros rather than £1400) but I really did not have anything to worry about, we had just the best time and my 6 year old thought it was the best holiday ever.

We stopped in the basic Comfort lodge, we have always stopped in the Comfort Plus in the UK so not really fair to compare but generally it was of the same high quality. Not sure if this is the same in the UK but it had no Dishwasher or Oven (just a four ring hob) but this was fine for us. A minor point but there was also no bike stand or entry lobby to store your boots/coats in. Overall though I was happy with the cottage. The beds had a foam mattress rather than springs, this is something I really hate, cant remember what the form is in the UK but it annoyed me a little.

The pool was, in my opinion, better than Nottingham, a nice central pool but also lots of little more private pools. One thing we loved was there is an underwater aquarium pool which you had to dive down to see the fish, we all loved this but my six year thought it was the best thing ever! The Rapids were good but maybe a little shorter than Sherwood.

The Shops/Restaurants were all centerparcs own rather than branded 'Cafe Rouge' (as far as I know, they may of been european brands), they were, as ever, overpriced but this is normal for centerparcs. We found a little Restaurant/cafe about a 1/2 mile outside of the resort called Koffiehoekje which was much nicer and a little cheaper. The Commodity store was quite nice and just a little over the normal supermarket price.

The resort itself it much smaller than Nottingham, from our cabin (564) it was a 2 minute cycle to get to the dome, car park, reception and bulabu, this was fantastic for us. And it was all perfectly flat, no hills at all which was great on the bike. The Bullabu (indoor play area) was great, and although we had no rain we still spent a couple of hours in every other day, Nottingham could really do with something like this!

Our child went on three of the 'Wannabe' activities (Chef/Spy/Knight) which he enjoyed and at 5 euros for 2 hours without the kids was great value for a bit of down time.

The staff we all fantastic, English is probably the forth language there (after Dutch, French and German) and yet everybody tried, and largely succeeded, to speak English to us.

The reception was always a little crowded and I gave up a few times waiting to speak to staff, this may of been because it was Easter and there were a lot of daytrippers waiting to checkin. I found if you rang however it was quicker!

Overall if Nottingham and Erperhiede were both an hour from my house I would go to Erperheide every time. However as its a 3 1/2 hour drive from Calis I would not try a weekend here. Looking forward to trying out a few more of the European Centerparcs now though!

Room Tip: I would choose something in the north west corner if you want easy access to your car, but it reall...

We spent a weekend here in January 2013, staying in 2 person apartment 429. This is a special one, differing from the other apartments because it has a very luxurious bathroom with shower, whirlpool, sauna, hairdryer, a double sink and a dish washer in the kitchen. It comes at a slightly higher price (70€ upon the price of a normal apartment) yet this was definitely worth it!

Upon arrival we used the E-ticket check in, which means you don't have to go to the reception and can check in from in your car. Very easy and it definitely speeds things up. We we're quite early and you can't enter your cottage until 3 PM so we had lunch at the grand café and went for a swim in the Aqua Mundo before checking out our cottage.

When it's time to check in you're allowed to drive the car to the cottage in order to transport your luggage inside. Afterwards you have to put your vehicle in the big parking lot at the entrance. The cottage was clean and the staff had taken the liberty of putting the heating on, so it was nice and warm which was very welcome with all the snow and freezing temperatures outside. The apartments are right next to the petting zoo and the Market Dome, even in the most far ones you won't have to walk longer than 5 minutes. We had ordered groceries on line to be delivered and they were waiting for us in the kitchen. Great service!

The kitchen is rather small but with some creativity you're perfectly able to cook and you're only with 2 persons in these apartments anyway. There's a microwave, dish washer and stove. The living room was comfy with a fire place and TV with DVD player. We had a balcony too but didn't make use of this 'cause of the cold weather.
The bedroom had more than enough closet space and 2 1-person beds put next to each other. The bathroom consisted of a toilet, huuuge bath tub with whirlpool function, a shower with rain shower and massage jets, double sink, hairdryer and of course the sauna.

The Market Dome is very cozy and really gives you the feeling of walking around in a tropical jungle. We tried out all the restaurants but the Pancakes one and found the food on offer really good yet sometimes pricey.
We had dinner in the Market Restaurant which is a buffet restaurant with different themes every night. You can always check in advance what the theme will be at the entrance of the restaurant. On our night it was 'American Buffet'. On offer was Chicken soup, Mushroom soup,a salad bar, turkey, steak, burgers, ribs, chili con carne, tacos, salmon, trout, tortillas, white rice, French fries, potato wedges, a pepper sauce, mushroom sauce, fish sticks, mashed potatoes, carrots, ice creams, chocolate mouse, fresh fruits, a chocolate fountain, marshmallows, ...
The food and service was really good yet a bit expensive at almost 30€ a person with no drinks included.

We had dinner at The Grill restaurant too. This is a table service restaurant which is very cozy and nicely decorated. The food was good yet small portions for the price you paid.
The Grand Café was our favorite, we had drinks here every night, lunch once and dinner once. The food is really good and cheap while the portions are rather big giving it a very good price/quality ratio.
The snackbar was okay too, hot and tasty burgers and other snacks which suited us fine for lunchtime.
Entertainment was pleasant. We participated in the Disco Bowling and Casino Game night and won a 25€ voucher to spend in the shops/restaurants.

The Aqua Mundo was great. Fun slides, whirlpools, an outside wild water river, wave pool, ...

We had a great weekend at a very low price. If you're planning on going, wait for the discounts! There is almost always something on offer so it would be a shame to pay full price knowing you could've gone cheaper by booking a week later.

We had a wonderful holiday with our kids (ages 2 and 5yrs). The holiday cost us half of what it would have done in the UK! There are lots of things to do with the young children. The swimming pool was excellent with a good selection of slides for all ages to enjoy. For us the main attraction was the soft play area (the Baluba) which has a variety of different things for the kids to do from shooting foam balls, going on trampolines, slides, and climbing. The kids also enjoyed going on rides on Shetland ponies (which for two euros a ride was good value). The petting zoo was also very popular with our kids (especially the baby rabbits). Our cottage was basic but very clean and spacious.

We ate out in the local town of Peer once (the Pizzeria Huzur was very good). The nearby town of Roermond (which is just inside the Dutch border) was lovely to visit. It has a Designer Outlet, but we found it to be rather expensive compared to the UK but the town itself was nice to walk around.

If you are looking for a good value family holiday that suits young children this is an excellent choice.

This parc is really nice for very young kids, my 5 years grand child enjoyed his stay and never get bored. We hired a VIP cottage, you have a personal sauna, sandwiches in the morning and newspaper. The aqua mundo was very nice and here again my grand son had fun. There was also an indoor place for kids.

Stayed here in August. Lovely place, good quality facilities and wonderful friendly staff. In addition its excellent value compared to uk equivalent both in the park and the booking costs.

However, mosses were a huge problem. 3 of the 4 of us were bitten numerous times and the 2 adults in our party both had in excess of ten bites each. Nearly all of these happened in the villa at night despite half hour pre-bed bug hunting and windows and doors closed all day.

In summary, go and try it. You will save a fortune compared to the uk but make sure you take some mossie spray.
