“Wonderful experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2012

Stayed at one of the Villas at the top of the complex for 6 nights a couple of weeks ago. This is my third stay there. The villa was spacious and very private despite being part of the complex. Breakfast was included so we ate at the little Grill by the upper pool each day. What a delightful way to begin each day of relaxation. Staff was very attentive and friendly. It was fun exchanging information with the staff about our respective languages. It's a steep hill but the Camionetta was always at the ready. Oscar is helping to groom the staff to provide high class service. If you want more than relaxation or walks along the lake or in the jungle or swimming in the lake you'll have to have transportation or arrange it at the front desk to get into Granada or Masaya but it is easy to do. Another thing: Wi-Fi internet access is available but only down at the reception area and not in the individual villas. But the focus of the stay was mostly relaxing and reading in this lush tropical environment surrounded by abundant flora and fauna.

Room Tip: A villa higher up in the complex offers better views with good access to the Grill and the upper poo...

The Villas at Apoyo is the perfect place to begin your vacation in NIcaragua. Just a short ride from Granada and you will find yourself in a jungle paradise. You will awaken to the sounds of howler monkeys and birds---don't worry, the monkeys stay high in the trees and provide charming entertainment. The Villas are beautiful with easy access to a lovely pool with lake views-- just a short walk to the lake for a swim.
It is such a tranquil place to relax but if you want some adventure, Oscar, the amazing manager, or any of the wonderful staff will be happy to arrange whatever you want from horseback riding to excursions to other parts of Nicaragua or a trip into Granada.

Room Tip: All to villas seem nice.

Our airy and spacious room overlooking the crater lake was complemented by a lovely balcony which , because of the slope, made us feel that we were in the treetops - quite lovely and shady. The staff was very helpful and professional.

Although i had known beforehand that we would be somewhat isolated, I had expected more of a resort feel here; as it turned out, this is a huge development where people own individual holiday homes and some rent them out short term to guests. There weren't many people there during our stay, which is either an advantage or a disadvantage, depending on how you look at it.

Because most units have kitchens, the menu in the restaurant is limited, The waterfront restaurant and beach area,, which belong to a different company, are kind of sad. If I were doing this again, I would pay $5 to the nearby San Simeon B and B,for their day use - chairs, hammocks, upbeat restaurant, dock, water toys etc.

A taxi ride away ( and this can be expensive, because taxis have to come from Massaya) is Abuela's, which also offers a day rate, great waterfront restaurant and many amenities. Too bad I only found these places on our last day.....

But, knowing about these resources, I would still choose to stay at the Villas because of the tranquillity , nice room and deck and excellent staff, especially Oscar.

Room Tip: If you take the cheapest apartment, be aware that it has drinking water and plastic cups, a fridge a...

The location is beautiful at the crater lake but because of the location sun will disappear in the afternoon. Villas are spacious and clean, but a big climb from the reception to your room/restaurant and pool. (but to be fair they offer free transportation which comes in very handy!) The staff is very very friendly and service oriented, the restaurant simple, maybe most of the guests cook themselves? The kitchen is well equipped to do so.
We found a lot of villas looking not well maintained, but some villas were worked on when we were there. Our biggest disadvantage is you need transport everyday if you want to more then take a swim in the lake. all in all if we had realized the limitations of the location we would have preferred a stay in neighboring Granada

This place should not be missed.. the views are amazing and you have feeling of truly being away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The staff is really good and attended to every detail. The food was very good. The laguna should not be missed.

Room Tip: Pick the deluxe villa.

Wow the customer service at this place is amazing..everyone is so nice and engaging. The customer service at this resort is on par with Disney, even the grounds staff stop what they are doing to smile and say hello. We stayed only 3 nights but could have stayed even longer if time would have allowed. The view is amazing and the villa are nice. So much wildlife on the property...tons of birds and monkeys.

My wife and I were looking for something different and get disconnected from the noise of the cities.
We found Norome and since we went into the lobby we knew this was exaclty what we were looking. Great service, excellent food, good privacy and the view of the "Laguna" from the swimming pool.
It is excellent and relaxing.
I recomend this place to spend your weekend and escape from the routine. it is very close from Masaya and Granada and they have a fair fare per night.

Room Tip: Look a room near the pool, they got the best view
