5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2013

We have stayed five times in this hotel. Have seen how it has grown over the years with the addition of the Holzleo part. Really enjoy service, mentality and ambiance. Only one real dissatisfier: smoking policy in the bar!

Having stayed at the Forsthofgut and Krallerhof before this was our first stay at this hotel. We stayed in the old and new part of the hotel and preferred the new part best for its modern and clean lines. A nice hotel with a great wellness area and pool. Bianca the massage therapist was outstanding. Good service and fantastic food in the restaurant. The only thing which is letting this hotel down is its smoking policy. From 4 pm onwards the open bar area and reception become a smoking zone well into the night with very little alternative seating. This was unpleasant and prompted us to go back to the Forsthofgut for evening drinks. There is also no wifi in the newly built rooms as they do not want guests to be subject to any electronic interferences. This is at odds with subjecting non smoking guests and children to passive smoking.

Everything is fine, lower spa is sometimes crowded with screaming kids, so you can go to the upper one. You have outside place to chill out by the pool in the swim suit. The main hotel is older, it would definitly need a refreshment. I guess newer part is better. In the upper spa you have a great terrace with wooden floor with fantastic great view to the hills on both sides. As a guest of a hotel you get Alpine card with which you have a lot of service around free of charge or at least discounted. For example you have free rides with cable-cabins. You should check a prospects at the reception desk and find out many discounted services around, such as entrance fees etc..We had half board - the food was good, with always present confiusion with the waiters. But the greek one is very sympatic - he reminds you on good hot greek hollidays.
The best thing is the coffe time. In the afternoon you have a coffe time with home made sweets, ice cream, juice, tea, fruits and it is all you can it. It is worth coming back from the trip. The location is very known for the biking downhill, hiking, Kaprun is near, and an hour away is Salzburg city. Overall if you stay in the surrounding you will have a great time, there is so many things to discover. It is not suitable to stay there if you need each day access to the highway, because its quite too far. I would go there again. And in the winter you have skiing just infront of you without driving with car.

Room Tip: If you dont mind the price take the new part of the hotel.

A very charming hotel and rooms with all the facilities you wish. The staff was very kind and attentive. A great cuisine (and winelist), a magnificent welness (and outdoor swimmingpool). In the evening you can get a last drink in a very cosy bar. A pity that we only stayed for 3 nights. A wonderful hotel and staff.

I stayed two days at Salzburg Hof in Leogang with a friend. The hotel and the place are definitely recommended for a few days of relaxation at any time of the year. In addition to the beautiful view that we enjoyed from our balcony, we appreciated the courtesy of all the staff, the really flawless cleanliness, the variety and quality of the food (among other things, fresh juices at breakfast) and the overall excellent hotel services. We felt pampered at Salzburger Hof... and liked it! Half board is actually almost a full board: in addition to the rich buffet breakfast and four-course dinner, you can have a snack lunch and an afternoon tea. The wellness area is very good, with Jacuzzi, infrared cabin, steam bath, saunas, massage rooms, indoor and outdoor relaxation spaces. It is divided between the ground floor and the fifth floor, panoramic, where there is also a very well equipped fitness area. The outdoor swimming pool is also beautiful, maybe a little short (7-8 m) for a good swim. Also included in the price was the Löwen Alpin Card that allows daily use of the nearby cable car that goes up to 1800 m (stunning panorama from there!) and of several other facilities nearby. The quality-price ratio is good and can improve further, even quite a lot, if you take advantage of special offers.

We were here for a weeks skiing. Location wise this is an excellent place to stay, you are literally yards away from the Asitzbahn (lift) which takes u directly into a large ski resort.
The rooms are spacious enough, not overly large but more thanenough room for all the skiing clothes you haul with you for a weeks skiing.
Hotel bar is comfortable and has a pleasant ambient, the head barman knows his stuff and they have a great selection of scotches should u like that sort of thing :-), a great place to relax after a days skiing.
The restaurant is also good, we had booked half board and something to suit most tastes on the menu each night. The kids buffet shouldn't be left out, always something to suit the junk food generation should the main menu not suit the kids tastes on any given night.
Ski cellar with your own locker to store the equipment, heated so you shoes are nice and warm in the morning.
As i said, a skiing holday, opposite the skilift so the view does not qualify as romantic.

All in all, definitely a place to reccommend

We were lucky there was a room available last minute (our Honeymoon was cancelled because the airports were closed in Europe). We had a new and very beautifull room in Holzleo part (older rooms are in Steinleo part of the hotel). Also clean! Dinner was nice but when you have à table in the 'barn' it is not cosy. Luckily we got another table the second day in a cosy part of the restaurant. The only two no's were: smoking in the bar ( thats the reason we did not went that often/long and nothing extra's to make it feel like our Honeymoon (drink, decoration in the room or something like that). There are à lot 'regular' people. Just a nice hotel.
