My wife & I have been visiting BKK for the last 20 years, initially using the Kirchheimerhof & moving on to the Ronacher. I can add little about the hotel that the review from "Ladymolestrangler" doesn't cover - the food quality & choice is outstanding & the service impeccable - the hotel has a feelgood factor which is unsurpassed by anywhere else we have visited. The journey from England is tricky, but Easyjet flies to Ljubljana from Stansted Airport and the hotel will arrange the taxi transfers. Klagenfurt is preferable but the flights tend to be far more expensive.
We have never skied at BKK but the runs are of World Cup standard. If there were a similar rating for walking, however, I suspect that it would also qualify. The Nockberge National Park is breathtaking, & for those who prefer easier access to the higher points a Karten Card provides excellent value, giving unlimited free access to all the major ski-lifts as well as local transport.
In addition the Cafe Hutte (voted the second best coffee shop in Austria) provides the ideal treat at the end of a long day's trek, while Helga's egg & bacon for breakfast must not be missed. There is a good variety of small bars in the village for an evening drink, although it is often a wrench to leave the comfort of the hotel.
To sum up, nothing is too much trouble for Simone Ronacher & her staff - this hotel is guaranteed 5 star comfort.
