At first sight Buddy Bar and Grill resembles a large fast food outlet, of which I'm not too fond of. Expected it to be on the expensive side too as it is situated next to the beach.
I was wrong on both counts. The food, both Thai and Western were very good and inexpensive. Its popularity shows by the amount of people who use it. It's the busiest restaurant on SaiKaew Beach. You can either have your meal on the beach at the twenty or so tables and chairs set out, or on the open air terrace within the restaurant which looks directly onto the sea giving you an excellent view.
As i permanently live in Thailand and have very little access to western food. I plumped for the Beefburger and Chips at 120 Baht and a big bottle of Leo beer also at the same price. McDonalds eat your heart out. The rest of the family, who are Thai ,chose the local cuisine. All of us gave the thumbs up to the delicious, well presented and very affordable meal.
They also serve bottles of wine from around 1,200 Baht upwards, wine is expensive in Thailand due to very high import charges on foreign goods. So the price is reasonable. The menu is extensive and covers many dishes. Obviously, the main ones being sea foods due to the location.
