“Good place for dinner”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

Had dinner one Sunday evening there. The place was quite empty, but the food was very good (though my curry was too spicy despite my ordering mild). Staff might not speak a lot of English, but is very polite.

“Don't be in a hurry”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013 via mobile

This is one of my two favorites in this area of Koh Samet (the other one is Samed Villa).
The location and the atmosfere is great. This is classic Thai beach life! It's wonderful to sit at the peaceful, lovely beach.
The food is all over good, especially the classic Thai dishes, with the paneng and the spicy steamed fish as our favorites. We orded the fresh crab with papaya, but didn't dare to eat it, while it looked raw! Perhaps it was our mistake, - perhaps fresh means raw, but it also looked frozen and not delicate at all. I think this was the only bad experience.
But the true problem with this restaurant is that it takes hours (well perhaps not hours, but it feels like that when you are hungry), to get your food. Once the waiter warned us, but the next day, with only a few guests in the restaurant, the same thing happened.
So, don't be in a hurry, take your time :-)

“Great beach restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2013

Fabulous seafood offering.....very fresh, tasty, good prices and a fairly extensive menu. Staff here were very attentive, helpful and always having a chat with a friendly smile.

Dont be put off by other reports.....this place is wonderful and you can have a really great meal, with your toes in the sand and the wave crashing about 10 metres away!

We ate here around 6 times in 2 weeks!

“Great restaurant: food & fire show”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2013

The map is wrong. To find the restaurant, go on Google Map, look for Samed Villa Resort (mid-island) and the Tubtim is one beach south of it or three beaches north of the Vong Duan beach.

We loved the seafood souffle in banana leaves - really delicious for a starter. Then we had a full fish and mixed vegetables. All was delicious. The atmosphere at night is magical with lanterns on the beach. And then, no need to go as far as the Ploy Talay, the fire show boys come on this beach as well and do their show in front of the Tubtim.
The choice is vast from authentic Thai to Western.
