“Clean, great location, loved the staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2014

We had a very good experience with this hotel If you're going to stay here- do point out anything in the amenities that you feel is damaged as to avoid charges later. The hotel was very clean and well maintained but the drying rack wouldn't support weight and was close to falling. The hotel fixed it right away. There wasn't a lot of space to move around the bed, so if you plan on spending a lot of time in your room- go bigger. We only planned to use it for getting clean and resting but it met our needs. The room had a mosquito net which provided mental comfort even though our room was bug free. The storage area being in the bathroom was smart, no carrying stuff here and there, no tripping over it in the room. The breakfast was HUGE and fresh. We had our choice of a wide variety of foods in a spread and they were brought out timely and replenished often. It was buffet style, we could go to town on whatever we wanted. We ate a few meals at the hotel otherwise and they were pretty good too. A little on the expensive side but convenient if you want to eat by the pool. Spend a night eating on the shore at one of the little fabric tables, cheap and romantic. The pool was very clean and the grounds in general were well kept. This hotel is NOT right on the beach, which was not a problem for us- but may be to someone who wants to lay on the sand for a day. You have to pay to lay on a chair offered by the beachfront hotels it's not much but might bother a family that has to pay per person. We just swam and sat on the sand and we were fine. The rooms can get a little maze like so remember where you're headed if you plan on spending a night drinking. There were many families and couples staying at the resort which was perfect for us, because up the beach a ways closer to the main downtown area can seem a little sketchy and people behave a little like a drunk college crowd- unless that's what you want. If you want to book a motorbike for the day do it through the hotel, the ones in the area are a total rip-off. The lady closest to the hotel, despite a giant sign that says "400 baht a day" will try to tell you it's per hour if she can fool you. We went to Koh Samet on a Monday and stayed for the beginning of the week so there weren't a lot of people but as we got closer to the weekend, at times there were speedboats arriving every 20 minutes. This didn't bother us but if you take a bike to a different beach further down the coast you'll find it's more secluded with a huge area for swimming.

Room Tip: The size of a regular room with a double bed might be too small for some couples. They provide a cot...

Went to Koh Samet for a trip and ended up staying in this hotel it was beautiful we booked through booking.com and paid 3500bht with breakfast if you walked in it would be 5000bht which I would not have paid. It is in a beautiful spot on the beach plenty restaurants and bars round about the only downside was that the bar shuts a 9pm and the room service also. The staff are very nice and very helpful. Lovely rooms with good air con and lovely comfortable bed etc. The breakfast is a buffet style which was not that great everything was cold and seemed like it had been cooked ages ago but that was not a problem.

Room Tip: lovely place and would say that if you are not carrying a lot of luggage walk along the beachfront a...

The family room was ideal for us with our 2 children.really enjoyed our 4 nights stay.lots of places around to eat.ideal for people who want to party late with the night club just next door.doesnt have beach facing rooms but beach beds are readily available just outside the hotel. Massage beds available too.they were a little stingy with the drinking water in the rooms.not more than 4 half litre bottles were complimentary. Beyond that we were charged.they stricly clear breakfast at 10 am. S so be on time if u dont want to miss it.

While rooms are nice and clean, the service is very bad. Any food order tales extremely long time. They booked a trip around the island for us, not mentioning that the fish farm was closed. We booked another book through them to catch our flight in Bangkok. A "misunderstanding" made us nearly miss our flight. Seems the staff doesnt really care.

Stayed here for two nights in November 2013. Firstly, as I travelled with my brother, I asked for a twin room. The hotel has no twin rooms so I had to book a triple room. This contained a double and a single bed. Why the hotel has no twin rooms is beyond me. I had the double bed and immediately noticed blood on both pillow cases, one had blood on both sides! Disgusting!
The hotel does not have its own beach, therefore when you turn up with the hotels towels, the beach vendors charge you for the sun lounger!

Two coffees purchased were pricey and not that good. The separate milk was served in a mug and subsequently ended up all over the table when poured in the coffee cups. The coffee and tea making facilities in the room were adequate, but with just one of everything!

Breakfast was adequate.

I wouldn't stay there again, and unfortunately won't be recommending the place to my family and friends. Overpriced and not not impressive at all.

I stayed at the Samed Pavillion with three friends on a weekend excursion from Bangkok. Our first impression when we walked in was great - lovely setting and good upkeep on the outside. But our experience quickly deteriorated once we started to look a little closer. First, the reception was under renovations, and it's basically located in the restaurant, so we had the pleasure of enjoying our meal with the sound of tools running and with dust flying around everywhere. They got started right around breakfast and finished at dinner - perfect. Then the restaurant staff are unable to communicate in English or Thai. They're mostly from the Philippines, which is fine, but not if they can't speak to their guests. They got three out of five orders wrong, brought them 10-15 minutes apart, and then when we asked to speak to the manager, they all dodged - first begging us not to complain, and later saying that the manager was away. Right - a 50+ room hotel with nobody in charge over the weekend...

The room wasn't bad, but the beds and pillows were hard, and the toilet ran the entire time. The checkout took ages, and I didn't manage to get a receipt out of the desk staff, who again could barely communicate in English.

A pretty crap experience for a $200/night room...

Room Tip: Avoid this hotel...

We had a spacious triple room though we booked a double only. The resort is well landscaped and beautiful.

Unfortunately it doesn't have a beachfront though there is a wide walkway that leads to the beach.

Real disappointment is the breakfast.
