I stayed at the Win Unity Hotel for two nights in December, 2012, during my 24 day trip to Myanmar. I've attached 10 photos of the property. the room was large, well-appointed, clean, quiet and comfortable. it is a little out of the town center, not really walking distance. There is a reputedly very good chinese restaurant across the road on a small island on the lake but I didn't go there. I ate in the hotel restaurant which was acceptable food but nothing to brag about. Have to go to the lobby to use the internet. they are supposed to have WIFI but it wasn't working well so I used one of the three computers they have in the lobby. There is a lot of good stuff to see around the Monya area. I hired a car and driver and drove from Bagan through Monya and on through Mandalay and Hsi Paw on this part of the trip. The Bagan-Monya-Mandalay part of the trip was extremely worthwhile. Beats going by boat given the things you can see!

Whilst this Resort presents itself as clean, well maintained, you can't help but feel the place is a bit of a rip off and staying somewhere more locally with Monywa town action would have been a better expereince.

The Resort was frequented by tour groups and conference groups whilst we were there. Rent a mob via buses of organised groups appeared each day. Very transient place.

On a good note, when our all important fridge died, the team were super quick to identify problem of the relatively newly installed fridge and replace with brand new one.

Breakfast was very average

Staid one night as part of an organized cycling trip, so not sure about the price. This was announced a "more basic hotel" - and I was pleasantly surprised: my room with front porch was overlooking the lake, nice spacious room, large clean bathroom, A/C, TV, wifi in reception area - all set in a green garden area, with a pool .
The dining room still has the "charm" of somehow communist/ eastern block dinng halls - so no charm at all. Breakfast was buffet, was very limited choices - service not really existing.

Spread out over a large area, all rooms are bungalows organised in pairs. Well fitted out. Has a lovely pool and gym, with towels. Used for government conferences. Worst aspect is restaurant, breakfast is really mean, but you can have it on the poolside, which is pleasant. Can go and eat in Pleasant Island restaurant across the road. Wi-fi only available at reception, as and when.

Room Tip: you need to decide how much walking you want to do, and tell them at check-in. Some rooms overlook a...

A nice looking well spread out chalet type hotel. The rooms are cleans with excellent hot water avaible for showering. The restaurant service at lunch was so slow it was unbelieveable. For the evening meal we crossed the road and turned left and a few metres along is a very local barbeque restaurant. The swimming pool appeared to have a film on top of it which did not make swimming in it attractive. The porters were excellent.

We arrived with no expectation but had a good surprise. the hotel is bungalow style, the setting is nice, garden is beautifully kept and they also have a good swimming pool.
Our room was specious, clean and reasonable equipped and it has very nice lake view. The wi-fi is working only at the lobby area so in the evening you can find all the guests sitting there and trying to get hooked.
Breakfast was the weak part . we had much much better ones all over Myanmar. actually, there is hardly anything to eat...
