“business or leisure, great deal anyway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2012

some refer to the coast along Yantai/Weihai as tge cote d'azur of China. If you want to get away from the crowds, noice and busy life of the Thier 1 & 2 cities, without going to a fancy resort, this is the place to be. great climate in summer, nice people, great beaches, and this great hotel. I'm not sure how they survive with the occupancy and prices, but you might as well advantage. great service, their Japanese restaurant was the best I ever had (but how to choose from a 106 page menu), very friendly staff, 5 minutes walk to the beach.

One has to remember this is a 3rd tier city , so expectations cannot be too high. Rooms were a bit dark for my comfort even with all the lights on.

No wifi in the room so spent quite a fair bit of time in the lounge. Lounge was decent.

Location is quite a distance from town but near the exhibition site. however there apparently isnt any decent hotels hear town

Dinner buffet was great though , great spread , great food.

Definitely a hotel for the business traveller, as its located right next to the Yantai Exhibition Centre. Although its far from the town's centre, taxis are frequent and affordable. Just make sure you get the correct change before getting out.

Hotel offers free wifi in lobby area, which becomes problematic when there are many users. Only plug-in internet connection in room, no wifi for iPad or iPhone. Lobby has gorgeous tea lounge, a sea cucumber shop and clothing store (very expensive). Restaurant offers lunch & dinner at reasonable prices but service is slow. Approx RMB 56 for a cappuccino. The lobby bar has the most exquisite glass feature I have ever seen!
Breakfast is good but caters more to the Chinese style, with fewer Western options; although some good pastries and fruit available. Room service food is surprisingly good value and tasty. Restaurant on top floor has spectacular views and has 4 kitchens serving different cuisines. In-house Chinese restaurant serves good Chinese food for Westerners, mostly rice, noodles, meat and veggie options but fortunately few strange things liek shark fin and seas cucumbers.
Spa is slightly on the expensive side, but highly recommended, especially the full body massage (RMB 600 for 60min) and foot massage (RMB180 for 30min). Spa is open 24h.

Rooms are big with writing desk and all business requirements (except wifi!). No bath, but shower is great with good water pressure. Bathroom extras are better than most others in China. There is no minibar, but drinks, food and others items can be ordered via room service.
Business lounge is expensive, try to email documents than printing them (RMB 10 per page).

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the ocean, as the back of hotel overlooks the residential area which is b...

We have been in Yantai for a year, and stayed at many hotels, in Beijing, Korea, Shanghai, nice ones, but the nicest was the one in our own back yard, clean, comfy beds, HBO and other English channels on the TV. The fitness centre is great, I actually bought a membership there. The Staff is great, The Top restaurant is very nice with an excellent view. Would recommend staying there, you will not be disappointed! Diana

Room Tip: Plenty of Taxi's to take you downtown. (approx 30 yuan)Yantai Hill is nice to see, along the str...

Ihave no hesitation in declaring this hotel as excellent. Congratulations to the owners and management. The staffs are friendly, efficient, well trained. They could not be faulted in any aspect. They looked smart in uniforms, spoke good English and could not have made my stay more en joyable. The Taste of Asia on the 45th floor is an outstanding eating experience. All the dishes are cooked to order and small enough to enable you to taste lots of Asia. Breakfast buffet was a delight. The hotel is a little way out of town but the beech is walking distance, as the 'Sea View' would suggest. Stay here you will be thrilled.

Great hotel with really good staff who put a lot of effort in to ensure the experience is a good one.Brakfast choice is large and varied depending on taste.
Stay very often and can reccomend it. Rooms are good, clean and large.
Main issue to sort out is the temperatures in the rooms in winter always cold on the seaview side but you can request a portable heater and in the summer the Aircon is ineffective.
Executive lounge a very nice extra with some good snacks.

Room Tip: ask for a room with 16 or 19 on the end of the number. i.e. 2916 or 19.
