“Picture perfect paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2010

For absolute relaxation in picture perfect comfort you can't go past Fish Eagle Point. Owner operators Steve and Cathy were exceptional host as were their great team who couldn't do enough to ensure we had hot tea and cold beers when ever we wanted. We felt our batteries truly recharged after such busy lives in the first world. Highly recommend the dhow trip to snorkel on the pristine sand islands and be sure to go on a deep sea fishing trip with Steve.

This place was such a beautiful and unexpected surprise. We were looking for somewhere to spend our last few days in Tanzania and stumbled across Fish Eagle Point (we heard about it is Arusha while staying at the Outpost). We didn't really know what to expect but decided to give it a try. Our reaction when we arrived (after a VERY long and bumpy journey) was WOW! It is totally unique... quirky and luxurious. The rooms on the beach are fantastic. The snorkelling is good, there are great caves and tidepools to explore. The sunrises are spectacular. The food was delicious and plentiful - especially the fresh seafood! The staff were all friendly and professional and the owners are two of the lovliest people ever. This is no standard cookie-cutter resort, everything was built using natural local materials with minimal environmental impact. Definitely recommended!

One of the last unspoiled locations on the Tanzanian coast with access by boat or road ( much improved since our last visit). The high light of our trip was the fishing( Sail fish, Tuna and GT's) in the Pemba channel and snorkling of a dow on one of the nearby coral reefs. Then of coarse the cold beers and hospitality after wards! A definate YES if you're a fisherman with a non fishing family, as we all left relaxed and rejuvinated!

Paradise. Hidden coves, forest walks and sandy beaches. A great escape. Rooms with the sea view are spacious, open planned and all one needs to allow the location in. Friendly and helpful staff. Road from the Kenyan border being revamped, the turn off to Fish Eagle point now graded. We did not go deep sea fishing (which we heard was great) but opted for snorkelling off the dhow and a visit to sand island. It was fantastic choice for a leisurely day trip.

We stayed in this wonderful little hotel and loved the bungalows that had beach views right from your room. It is somewhat rustic but very personal. The management is awesome and the food was great! It would be an amazing little romantic getaway that takes you away from the hustle and bustle of life. You can go here, relax, go swimming, eat amazing food and enjoy the beautiful beaches. The road is pretty rough getting there, but it's a great little find! It felt like an adventure getting there and felt like you were on a deserted island hotel once you get there.
I would definitely recommend it! But you have to be the adventurous type to enjoy this place. It was just great!

We were on our way from Tanga to the border and found this amazing place after staying in the Out Post in Arusha (same owners). The road to Fish eagle point is quite rough (but the owners are making plans to improve!). We managed to get there in our own jeep and it was well worth the trip! The views are amazing, the rooms are very special & exclusive (right on the beach) and staff very friendly. If you are looking for a special, peaceful and relaxing stay...fish eagle point is the place to go! Due to lack of time we only stayed one night, but would have loved to stay a bit longer.

Trying to get my husband away on holiday is a nightmare task, but since we first went to Fish Eagle Point at the recommendation of friends my nightmare is now over.
This unique, eco-friendly paradise is a perfect place for us both to re-charge our batteries. It has the most idyllic location, is as eco-friendly as is humanly possibly for its location and the host and hostess are just brilliant, immediately we arrived we almost felt a part of their family.
Although it is uniquely quiet, one can always enjoy swimming, fishing, sailing etc. or you can just sit and watch the world go by.
Thank you so much Cathy, Steve, Laura and everyone else at Fish Eagle Point who made our stay all the more memorable.
