“Very pretty spot”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2013

We used this place as a overnighter on our way to Malawi in December. We were happy to get a room that night however they had camping so we went with it. The camp site was nice and big but not a lot of shade which didn't affect us as it was early evening when we arrived. One of the showers didn't seem to provide hot water and the other one didn't have a light but otherwise it the facilities were nice and clean.

The view over the valleys was really nice and made this a particularly charming little campsite. It did get a little chilly however, and we found ourselves looking for another layer (in the middle of summer....).

We didn't go to the restaurant as we cooked our own braii but we did use there bar which was well stocked and let us take our drinks to our camp site. I would definitely like to go back and stay a few nights so I could explore Chimoio a little more. Would recommend to all.

Firstly this hotel is not in Beira as stated by Trip Advisor but 7kms East of Chimoio on the road to Beira and I will try and get Trip Advisor to correct this. We stayed here on the way back from the Coast to Malawi as we had the misfortune to break down 50 kms outside Chimoio and had to spend 2 days here whilst the clutch was replaced.

It is a large modern place with several blocks of rooms spread across their spacious grounds. There are a few horses wandering around, a pool, mini golf (may not still be in use) etc. It is a nice setting and as the accommodation is away from the busy Beira Road the traffic noise isn't a problem. It is a popular stop over hotel for people travelling from the Coast to Malawi and Zimbabwe and late afternoon and early evening they get a fair number of people stopping off for the night. In the past we used to stay at another place in central Chimoio but never enjoyed our stay. There are now a couple of other new options in central Chimoio but they are more expensive and there is really no reason to stay in the centre.

We stayed in the standard room for $75 a night rather than the more spacious executive rooms that cost $125 a night. Our room was clean and quiet and fine for what we needed. Only a few rooms seem to have mossie nets and we took one of these rooms. The rooms have good air con and satelite TV which only have a couple of English TV channels at the most.

We had our dinner at the hotel the first night and it was fine and the cost very reasonable. For the 2nd night we ate at the Maua at the Feira Popular and it was excellent but a bit hard to find the first time in the dark. The breakfast at the hotel was a very basic buffet and the staff couldn't be bothered to replenish dishes unless asked as they were too busy watching the blaring TV.

There is plenty of parking and you can park in front of your room.
