We chartered a boat for the day to take us sight-seeing and visited several isalnds close by. We picknicked on on one of these islands - name forgotten - before our boat-man suggested we hike up the hill through the wooded terrain to go see the lake of the Pregnant Maiden - well known locally to have a romantic legend about a pregnant lady. It was a rather long walk and climb but not too difficult if one does not mind the heat and humidity. We were pleasantly rewarded with this big lake - more of a crater - at the end of our climb. We were able to descend down to the lake and take a small (short) swim, more to refresh ourselves than to follow local belief that its waters has certain magical (or healing) powers.
