A relatively small hotel with good standard! It was nice with the size of the lodge and rooms are newly renovated with tasteful decor, the size was excellent and in addition there was a lovely porch. Location is very good right next to the beach, the negative was that it is so incredibly shallow water it was actually a bit difficult to swim.
The food was very good and well prepared. The staff however was quite nonchalant, snäsiga answer if you asked something. We had the feeling that they wanted the man would speak French.

Room Tip: all were equally

All the staff here is with very bad attitude. We lived here for three days and received supercilious looks instead of smiles. We gave generous tips and smiled to them, but received no smile at all. We don’t know why. The experience is the worst in Seychelles, and almost ruined the happiness of holiday.
The room arrangement is good, although the furniture is very old. The sea view is good as well as the garden view.
There is Seaweed in the beach of this hotel.
中国人还是不要住这里了,这里的员工明显歧视中国人。对中国人一直板着脸,对老外老远就开始笑。。用小费都换不来对中国人的笑脸。

Room Tip: very bad attitude

Dear Guest,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at our Hotel. It is a regret that on this particular occasion, we did not fulfill your expectations. Our staff service standards need to be improved, and we have taken your review to share with the team and we are putting measures in place to better our standards. I am glad you liked the room, it is an Island rustic chic atmosphere which most guests always compliment us.
Yours Sincerely,

I have had such bad experience with the service this past December, when my husband and I visited the Indian Ocean Lodge on the Seychelles that I will never visit them again or recommend them. Unfortunately, because the food was great. We did not feel welcome.

Stayed at Indian Ocean Lodge for three nights. Coming from having spent the first four nights on Mahé at an excellent small hotel, we were very disappointed upon arrival at Indian Ocean Lodge. From the rude welcoming by an equally rude receptionist to the non-existent farewell and thank you from an even more rude receptionist at departure we regretted having chosen Indian Ocean Lodge.

The hotel is severely overpriced and there is a general feel of lethargy over the whole place. Facilities not being taken care of, terrible food (including the breakfast buffet) and of course rude and non-engaged staff.

Only positive aspect would be the relatively nice room we stayed in.

If going on your dream holiday to Seychelles, avoid this place by all means.

We have a Maison on Eden Island and every trip to the Seychelles we do a family boat trip across to Praslin, we anchor boat in front of the Indian Ocean lodge and spend a night or two. We love it the rooms are gorgeous and its a very relaxed atmosphere.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2013 via mobile

Had an amazing time at Praslin. Stayed at the Indian ocean lodge for 2 nights. Fantastic for a 3 star property. Rooms was absolutely lovely, it did smell a little musty but after speaking to the locals I think this may have been from the floods they had earlier this year.
The food was fantastic. We have the buffet one night and a la carte the other.
The hotel provides a free shuttle everyday to Cote d'or, picking up at 10am returning at 430. Another one of Seychelles best beaches.
The hotel staff are not in your face and left you to yourself, however when you did approach them they were pleasant and helpful enough. I liked the Indian Ocean lodge because you were able to take a stroll out of the hotel to the shops, take away and church. The locals were all so pleasant and polite. I have to say after staying on Praslin and Mahe that Praslin was my favorite as you can get to other islands easily, la digue is a must. Vallee dai mai is also worth seeing. I would also recommend car hire, its so easy to drive and get round the island. Taxis were expensive. If I was visiting Praslin again and was on a budget I would definitely stay here again if I wanted more luxury I would recommend else where.. I really enjoyed doing a couple of nights at different hotels and different islands and I'd do the same again if we went back.
