“Small but fun”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2013

We stayed at the lodge, and received complimentary waterpark passes (with our groupon). Our kids are 14 and 11. The 14yo got bored after about 4 hours, but the 11yo played all day. I would guess the "ideal" age is about 6-12. It's small enough so you can see the kids at almost any activity and i didn't feel like i had to follow them around (both are strong swimmers). There is only 1 large tube slide - which surprisingly didn't have long lines. Overall, nice clean waterpark. Food is available, towel are provided. We got there early in the morning, so we managed to get a couple of lounger chairs.

“wonderful addition to beautiful hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2013

The waterpark was great.. I would recommend for little ones up to possibly 15yrs old...the wave pool and the water slides worked fine for two 14 year old girls but without the heated outdoor pool and hot tub it would have only been a few hours excursion at the most. If I had my grand daughter who's almost 4 SHE would have loved it. Temperature was a bit warm but OH so nice to sit outside in the outdoor hot tub when the temp outside was a bit rainy and chilly. 35$ is a bit pricey for older kids who may not want to stay long but great for those who would spend the day.. TIP: if you order tickets before checking into the hotel you can get them for 29.95.

“I would only do this for one day”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2013

We stayed at Hope Lake Lodge over Spring Break. We planned to use the water park on one of the days. We picked a Friday. The facility is clean. We got there at 10:30 am and there were very few people there. About a third of the attractions were closed as they did not have enough life guards. By 1 pm everything was open for use.

By 12 pm the place got very busy especially with "outsiders". Chairs became scarce as did towels.

We thought we would only spend 2-3 hours here, but the kids found enough to do to stay busy for 6 hours.

The outdoor heated pool is a novel idea. The whirlpool is nice as well.

There are not enough double tubes for the water slide. The system in place for the tubes worked. People patiently waited for tubes. No one hogged the tubes.

The waterpark is great for little kids. If you have been to Great Wolf Lodge, you may be a little disappointed. We warned the kids that this place did not have any of the extreme/exciting rides like GWL.

“Small is great! They had it all!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2013

Great escape from the winter of Watertown, NY. Under 100 miles for a fantastic day!
Our kids ages 3 and 8 lasted all day.

This place was perfect for us. They had a wave pool that was just big enough where we could keep a good eye on our kids. It was very realistic oceanlike and the kids had a great time in it.
Loved the basketball pool, where several balls and baskets were available.
Loved the ample areas for toddlers that they had set up. Swings in the water, nice toddler slide.
They had various areas for different age groups.

On the older side...nice jaquizzi that went indoors and outdoors. They did allow kids in there but they had to be with an adult.
The pool was a hit as well! Entered indoors and it went outdoors.
We all enjoyed the beautiful view and fresh air outside.

Nice quality beach recliners but you must get there early to obtain one.
Park was super clean!
Loved the separate changing areas, away from the bathroom.
Bathrooms had modern self flushing toilets and fixtures.
Loved the high speed hand/hair dryers
LOVED the nice warm towels. They had them located in large bins in the sun. smart.
Lifeguards were on the ball! Professional acting. Not chatting with other lifegurards. They were focused on thier job.

My only critiques..

Food kitchen needs help! waited over an hour for my pizza.
Employees were trying but the crowds were to much..(Melanie was taking on lots of stress from annoyed customers and everyone hungry. She maintained herself as calm as possible. Really tough to handle her crowds. She appeared to have a great staff working with her but they were struggling supporting the food orders. Great work ethic from kitchen staff but they were still drowning..
Only one double tube for the whole park???
Shortage of places to sit, possible that they oversold tickets even though it was sold out.

“Wasn't Dying from Chlorine.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2013

It's a small water park. Children need to be at least 42 inches to go on the fun slide. Otherwise, they gotta stick with the baby slides. The wave pool was fun for the kids. It's a nice place to go when it's cold outside and you need to tire the little ones. They provide towels which was nice.
