“boring”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2011

I have just arrived from maldives, we stayed 5 days, we have actully paid for 6 days but I missed my flight so one day was gone for me but I was glad that I stayed 5 nights as it was very boring, the only thing that left the place up is the food, the food was delicious desert was yummi. THe chief should cook in a 5 stars hotel. We paid $2156 for two people and for 6 nights only, it wasnt cheap. THe Wifi is not free as they wrote on description infact its expencive $10 for 15minutes so that was a lie from them. The island is boring because its too small. you would take 30mins max to go around the place. So its not very fun if you stay 5 nights. NO TV in rooms. SO we felt realy trapped. magazins were all writing in Italian language, so that want fun. cheap facilities (biliards, pingpong) staff were friendly and service was good. BUt I would not go to it again.

Room Tip: we booked Superior Deluxe Bungalow but if you are a couple that like to cudle at night you wouldnt l...

This was my 5th island in the Maldives and regretfully the 'worst' with regards to the food and the service of the waiters. No separate houses, but blocks of 4 rooms (2 groundfloor and 2 rooms on 2nd floor) and the few facilities they have are 'low budget' (biljard, pingpong). The island is very small (almost claustrofobic). BUT: we were there to dive and we had a GREAT time. The housereef was fantastic (especially on the 'restaurant side') with white tip sharks, turtles, eagle and stingrays. Nice table corals. Nightdive at the house reef was also great. Boat dives take a max of 30 minutes boatride, all divesites were great (especially local wreck: Ranveli wreck, with hundreds of remoras and beautyfull coral).
I would recommend this hotel if you only want to dive/snorkel and you can get a good deal. Since the location in Ari atol is fine and the housereef is nice. But for the price we paid, the other islands I've been before (especially Thulhagiri, great house reef and good food) were better value for money.

So, I just arrived back from the Maldives and I wish I would stay for at least 1 more week. We chose Ranveli island based on the price and snorkeling. I've been to Maldives 4 times before on Velingadu (which is 10times more expensive), but Ranveli was just perfect. It's a really small island 150×50m all around with 50 rooms altogether. The two-story bungalows are divided on SEA side and Beach side. I would recommend SEA side as the sea is 2 m from your door. We stayed in upper level room No. 24 and it would be almost perfect if we didn't have a tree blocking our view, so really the BEST rooms are 23 (ground level) and 25 (1st floor). They are at the end of the island, the nearest place to the beach and reef. The rooms are basic but the bed is gigantic and very comfortable. Our room was cleaned twice every day & fresh bathroom & beach towels left... The sea transfer was great, especially if it’s you first time, it is a great experience.
Otherwise the whole island is very tranquil. Really relaxing, nice & quiet.
The reef is beautiful and it starts by the platform where you arrive with the boat and goes all around the island. The best place is at the end of the island where the pink buoy is in the sea and at least 100 m from that buoy. That is the real reef with much more variety of fishes than by the island. Mostly people don’t go that far. Please just note, that you’re not allowed to stand on the reef, and by doing that you’re destroying the corrals!! We also decided to go on a Whale shark snorkeling trip and it was AMAZING!!!!! We saw mantas, whale sharks, dolphins, turtles… you name it, we saw it  The trip is 50$/person, totally worth it. We also went night fishing, 25$/person, also totally worth it!!
Regarding food, it was mainly Italian, wish there would be more Maldivian. Every day, every night you had 2 pastas ( Bolognese+…), some meat or/and fish. But the quality was very good, very European. Their previous manager was Italian, so the guests are mainly Italian.
The staff are wonderful, nothing being too much trouble. Our waiter Nadim was a sweetheart!!
Can’t wait for next year’s vacation to come back 

Room Tip: rooms on the sea side are more quieter, are having a better view and the sea is right at your door...

Stayed here for a weekend gateway with my girlfriends and loved the reef just at the arrival jetty. The beach is wide and pure white, a bit too shallow on one side but perfect if you just want to lounge and tan. Very friendly staff and will surely go back again for my next break!

Two weeks of absolute paradise. Loved every minute of our stay, and will be returning as soon as we can. The staff are wonderful, nothing being too much trouble, our waiter Nadim and our room boy Zacky looked after us everyday, always with a smile on their faces. Everyone including the garden staff, bar staff and the Spa girls (wow!) were so friendly. Chef and his team welcomed us into the restaurant for every meal.

The island itself is very small, this added to the special atmosphere. Days spent snokeling, swimming, reading, simply relaxing.

Rooms are basic, but so clean and huge! very comfortable bed. Clean towels every day.

The reef is amazing, we didn't dive, but got to see just as much snorkeling. Every variety and colour of fish you could ever imagine. Makes you realise how precious the reef is and what a privilege it was to see it.

Room Tip: Don't bother taking shoes!

This is a great little island, we have been to the Maldives for the last 8 yrs and so far this has been the best holiday.
We like to try a different island each time but we would return to this lovely Little Gem.
So relaxing, nice & quiet, Great staff, Great food, Great reef, everything is so Good.
It remains one of the few Natural Islands still left & we would say to " Go & Try It Out "

A dream never to be forgotten. Every member of staff from top management right down to the baggage people could not do enough to ensure your holiday is everything you could possibly wish for. The rooms are basic but the bed is gigantic & very comfortable. Our room was cleaned twice every day & fresh bathroom & beach towels left daily. Breakfast, lunch & dinner served in abundance by very attentive, polite & friendly kitchen staff. Our waiter Nadim, gave us an exceptional service & always greeted us with a beaming smile.
A beautiful island & fantastic staff guaranteed to give you a wonderful Maldivian holiday of a life time. We didn't want to leave & would go back to Ranveli time after time.
