“Simply Amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2013

We were lucky enough to be invited to a wedding at Sarnia Park last year and because of the amazing food, scenery and building we decided to treat ourselves to a night at Sarnia while visiting family close by. The way we were greeted made us feel like celebrities. Bev is the best host we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. We took a walk around the gardens, which are beautiful at the time of the year and visited the chapel and it's beautiful stained glass windows. Our four year old son enjoyed a swim in the heated indoor pool, then finally to dinner in surroundings that left me totally gobsmacked. The interior design and decorating is as amazing as the exterior of this venue. The staff were amazing and the food nothing less than incredible. The set menu was divine, and they catered for our son creating the best chicken and chips he will ever have. The room we stayed in was absolute luxury, a five star for this place is just not enough. I have never stayed anywhere that comes close to this standard.

We recently attended a wedding at Sarnia Park. We had heard glowing reports of this venue. Were we impressed - you bet we were. It is a truly magnificent complex. The grounds can only be described as stunning - a photographers dream. The wedding ceremony was held outdoors in just one of the beautifully manicured private hedged settings - then onto an adjoining area for photos, refreshments and games - and then to a most memorable reception - - still outdoors - in yet another area under a canopy of overhanging branches.
The food put forward for the wedding breakfast was simply superb.
Finally, we moved indoors to the ballroom to conclude the days celebrations.
Well done Sarnia Park - it is hard to imagine a better venue anywhere in New Zealand - and your staff were excellent.
Your Qualmark rating of 5 star barely does justice to what we experienced. Just wish we had stayed on in the accommodation on offer..

This visit was purchased at a Child Cancer Charity Golf Tournament - dinner, accommodation and breakfast for one day. First contact to confirm booking was very pleasant and helpful/accommodating. Travelling instructions obtained from their website proved excellent. Entering the driveway we did not know what to expect and were so pleasantly surprised. Reception entrance was huge, high ceiling and glorious stairwell to upstairs accommodation. Large comfortable room, very comfortable bed, hot roomy shower and canapes at 6.45pm for dinner at 7pm. Walking down the wide stairwell I remarked "hello Clark Gable I feel like Vivian Leigh in the 1920's" as we descended to the music of Frank Sinatra. We were fortunate to be the only guests this Monday/Tuesday after a large wedding that weekend with another the following weekend. The dinner was delicious, presentation as good as any top restaurant in Auckland and cocktails very yummy. Breakfast by the pool in the morning and off to play golf on the way home. You will love this experience as we did. Hosts were enchanting and very hospitable. Thank you Bev and Rob.
