“Christmas in August”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2013

We rented 5 cabins for the weekend as a team building activity for our work place. 10 women from our office went to celebrate Christmas in August. It started due to the many commitments in December - and became a fantastic team building exerience.
The cabins were beautiful. The hikes on the property great for beginners - and a fantastic training for the Pyramid Track in Girraween National Park.

Starting the weekend with exploring Tenterfield, on to the local wineries, and specialty shops.

While we were wine tasting, Kelly surprised us with full on Christmas decorations in one cabin, complete with egg nog! We had an amazing Christmas celebration together, complete with all the tinsel and trimmings thanks to the manger, Kelly.

Thanks!

Room Tip: Perfect location to explore Girraween national park, the local wineries, Stanthorpe and Tenterfield...

I had 3 nights at the Environmental Lodge.. and it is by far the best holiday I have in many, many years.
Kelly was so helpful, making my friend and I feel right at home and Tasman was such a lovely addition to the family, we were always excited to see him! I loved seeing both Kelly and Tas every morning. I would highly recommend anyone considering going to the Girraween Environmental Lodge to definitely go for it.. you will have an amazing time

My partner our 11 year old son and myself had the pleasure of spending a night in a lovely chalet at Girraween Environmental Lodge.
When we arrived we were greeted by the very friendly Tasman, who is the canine mascot for Girraween Environmental Lodge. He led us inside where we met the even friendlier Kelly who gave us a brief run-down about the lodge, our chalet and also about the many onsite walking tracks on the stunning 400 acre property.
We were given a map of the walking tracks and directions to our chalet. Kelly also showed us the plentiful DVD library from which guests can borrow free of charge.
We made our way to our chalet where we found the fire lit and warming and settled in to relax.
Our chalet was immaculately clean with a 4 burner gas stove and large fridge in the kitchen, 4 seater dining (with 4 seater table on the outside desk also), 2 x 2 seater couches and TV with DVD player. We choose a chalet with 2 x Kingsize beds (which were very comfortable) and had electric blankets on both.
The outlook from our chalet was stunning with beautiful, natural bush all around. Sitting on the deck with a cup of tea after our day's walk in Girraween Nation Park was perfection. The peace and quiet was so relaxing.
It is the perfect base for trips to the local wineries and National Parks. We wish we had booked another night (or two!) and we will definitely be back.

Room Tip: Chalet 13, 14 and 9 (in order of preference).

The living quarters are clean and comfortable, but best of all the walks are not overly long or difficult but are they are truly spectacular. Staff are friendly and accommodating. i will definately consider returning next time I need a break. Oh must mention very close to a couple of great wineries.

This was a really lovely place to get away. Our cabin was very comfortable, snug and clean. We loved the fire (and the basket of pre-chopped wood by the door) and felt looked after in an unobtrusive manner.
Over our morning cups of tea we saw white-winged choughs and kangaroos wandering past the cabin and lots of birdies. Gorgeous natural environment which you are surrounded by and friendly management. Would recommend to anyone looking to relax

This place is incredible. We recently stayed here for a family weekend away and had a very relaxing, indulgent stay. The cabin was beautiful and cosy and the easy access to various bush-walks make it the perfect base-camp for a weekend of exploring the area. Kelly was also exceptionally friendly and welcoming (and we may have fallen in love with her gorgeous dog, Tas). All in all, would highly recommend and want to go back. Now.

We stayed for the weekend and we loved the atmophere and wildlife walks. The bbq and indoor fireplace made the cold weekend cozy and the spa with a wine or two topped it off. We would recommmend this to visitors and locals alike. Thanks for the great weekend.
