Owner description: Our vineyard was planted in 1999 and since then we have progressively increased our production to meet demand. We are two ex school teachers who made a tree change to the Granite Belt to grow grapes, make wine and open a cellar door. It’s a hands-on operation as all processes are completed by the two of us on site. We skillfully create regional wines that exhibit strong varietal fruit characters.

Smithy and Sue are great hosts... the wine is hand made and delicious... you can see the winery from the tasting room... you might get to see the vinyard... highly recommended.

“Pyramid Road Wines”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2012

This winery is a little off the beaten track but you see some interesting sights along the track (a pyramid, a steam train etc) so it's worth the detour. The people are friendly and the toilets are clean.

“Excellent QLD winery”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2012

We only tasted reds here today as all the whites were sold out but excellent all round and the winemaker was the loveliest fellow, we stayed and chatted for a while, no feeling of needing to rush. And say hi to the dog Ralph...

Ralph takes all the loving he can get and believe me, he gets plenty. Thanks for taking the time to visit us and we promise we'll have whites next time you come out. We love talking with people about wine but also about our vibrant Granite Belt region. See you again soon.

“Ideal stop for the genuine wine lover.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2012

This cellar door, winery and vineyard has the personal touch. The owners are welcoming and cheerfully informative about their wines and their production. They are hands on winemakers in the traditional way. It was enjoyable and interesting to hear their stories as we tasted their very good wines. This is not a big commercialised tourist stop but a very good option for those who are serious about their wines.

Fantastic wine tasting experience. Loved the time and effort they put in to explain about wine making.

Thank you for your positive review. We love showing people around the winery and explaining what we do here. Come and see us again in spring when the vines are budding. It is so beautiful. See you then!
