No cleaning, awfully poor breakfast, very expensive quads but broken... I'm not sure where to begin. This is the third time I pass my holydays in Mancora but for sure this is the only hotel I will not visit again. Sure you can find better for this price, even if the offer in Mancora is not as well as the one in other parts of the country. After 3 awful days in Sahara hotel, we finally got another room in Punta del Mar hotel in Pocitas for 55 dollars and the difference was incredible! We asked for the Deluxe room which was very big and with a view, we also had a frigo bar and a bathtub for this price.
The owner and the administrator of Sahara hotel tried to make us pay for a quad that was broken even if he had to come to get it because of a battery problem.
The owner made us wait and wanted that we return the quad to the hotel instead of taken care of the qwad and let us continue the journey with other friends that had also rent a quad and a motorcycle. None of us had finally fun. When we got the final bill, they charged us 3 hours for the broken quad and we had a fight because of that. Another client told us lately that he also had a problem with the quad few days before so the owner was clearly not honest.
We thought that for 80 dollars we'll had at least a view and a a good service but the rooms in front of the sea where on the first floor and there was a wall in front and we could not see the beach. The cleaning guy told us that he couldn't clean the room because he was very busy helping LAN airlines take pictures in order to propose the hotel in their website. I told him that since it was just one day, we didn't care but that we needed some toilet paper and soap. He gave it to me and the problem was solved but the next day, they didn't clean neither during the day. They finally came to the room at 8pm and we had to go out to let them work. No excuses from the owner or administrator but the cleaning guy was nice. He just had too much work.
If you go to Mancora, visit the room before paying for it and ask if they accept credit cards or they will charge you more, ask for the breakfast you'll get (in Sahara hotel we had two buns per person, coffee and one glass of juice, one more piece of bread was charged in our bill) and visit several places before you decide. That's the only way to get a fair deal and I hope it will make the hotel owners to improve the quality of services and not only try to take all the money they can from the tourists.
