During our recent trip to Puerto Rico, my (new) husband and I stayed in three different hotels, two of which were resorts. This one was by far our favorite! The location is great, the rooms are clean, the service in incredible and the breakfasts are enjoyable. If you are worried about your limited spanish, don't be. I highly recommend that you stay at Luquillo Sunrise Inn.

We stayed here for 6 nights on our honeymoon and it was wonderful. It is not a luxury hotel, there is no phone, no internet in most rooms and the bed was not the most comfortable. If you are used to a fancy resort with luxury sheets and every convenience, this place might not be for you. Having said that, I would not stay anywhere else in Puerto Rico. The view from the balcony at sunrise is amazing!

Breakfast every morning on the patio overlooking the ocean was great. The staff were amazingly helpful and suggested places to visit, and local places to eat. They booked some day excursions for us (which were also discounted by booking through them). The East Island Flyer tours were a little pricey compared to others but they were great and I would not have done it any other way. Do not miss the Vieques Bio Bay trip which includes dinner - it cost around $100 a person and was worth every penny.

If we needed anything, it was taken care of immediately and we were given big beach towels and beach chairs to use during our stay at no charge.

There have been many comments here about the neighborhood being bad, but it is just a little run down (like so many other places in PR) and we walked along the beach and also down to Guavas at night and did not feel like it was unsafe.

The best food we had on the whole trip was around the corner at the Brass Cactus. Very reasonable prices and wonderful food and service.

From the time I called them to enquire about reservations until the minute we left the hotel for the airport, the experience was fantastic. Demian, who sits at the front desk and answered the first call, helped shop around for biobay trips before i even booked the reservation! He was extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The room was very comfortable and we had a fabulous view of the ocean. I woke up one morning at 5.47am and caught a beautiful sunrise. Since they have only a few rooms, breakfast felt like a cosy family ritual on the terrace. Heidi, Clarence and Minerva made wonderful hot breakfast every morning. (i made it a point to note down their names) One night our A/C stopped workng, and i was about to start grumbling, but they immediately accomodated us for that one night in their best available room and gave us access to both the rooms.
There was decent snorkelling nearby. The beach in front of the hotel is slightly away from the big public beach, so it felt more private but just as nice. For those who like Puerto Rican food, there are 60 kioskos near the luquillo beach, a fun experience to walk around and eat here. In general, the whole atmosphere was cosy and fun. We loved our vacation in puerto rico, thanks in no small part to this wonderful little Inn.

My boyfriend and I went to Puerto Rico for a five-day vacation, among which two nights were spent at Luquillo Sunrise Beach Inn. We both agreed that the two nights spent at Luquillo Sunrise Beach Inn were the best among the five. The staff there was very welcoming. The day we arrived was late at night. And we got lost because the GPS has not yet had the correct map of the town of Luquillo. But once you got off exit Luquillo, you are not far from the Inn. Well, then we called the hotel, the person who attended my call was entirely patient and guided us by phone. Besides the heart-pleasing service, the Inn was set fronting the Luquillo beach, one of the finest in Puerto Rico. The pristine beach view without any commercial interruption embraces your stay all the time, even during the breakfast, because the breakfast is set on the balcony facing the ocean. Try it yourself and see if you would like it as much as I do.
