“Good food, ocean view!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

Great food! Fantastic view (the place is right on the beach). They have really good cocktails although a little strong. ;-) The place seems to be popular with the locals: there was a big wedding the night we had dinner.

“Under-impressed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

We went to Frenchman's Reef based on a recommendation.... Not so good idea. Let's start off with the constant flow of crack-heads in the parking lot and around the outdoor seating. Each trying to sell you something. I had to get a bit loud with a couple of them... I hate being bothered when I am trying to enjoy a meal.

The restaurant itself looked clean and orderly and the free wi-fi is a nice touch.

The service was friendly, but not so professional. They messed up on our order, but we opted not to make a big deal about it. The food was also not all that great. I had a ribeye, in hopes of finding some good beef in Jamaica... I did not find it there. My GF opted for something simple, a BLT sandwich... it was okay.

This place can be fixed and could deserve a return visit, provided they 1) get rid of the parking lot crack-heads, and 2) improve the food quality.

“Great Place for Breakfast or Dinner”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

We were staying in Frenchman's Beach at Waikiki Guest House (not recommended, BTW!) and happened upon Frenchman's Reef Restaurant and Cocktail Bar and found it to be a great option for both breakfast and dinner. For breakfast, we liked their callaloo (like spinach) and cheese omelet; and for dinner, we had their tasty conch fritters, jerk lobster, and curry fish over noodles (though we didn't care for their rum punch). The prices were good for both meals, with nice-sized portions, and the place is right near the beach.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2013

This is the place to go for a real food in Treasure Beach, international too, The place is great looking, right on the beach. The food took a little long, but we loved it. Took a seafood Pizza home,.. You can’t get this a Pizza Hut. The service was cool, very tentative, Try the Curry Shrimp, its wonderful. Looking forward to my next trip. Frenchman’s Reef is “Impressive!

“Reasonably priced but not the best food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

I honestly went to this restaurant because I needed to use WiFi. So I ordered brown stew fish with rice and festival. The fish wasn't the best especially for a fishing community. The fish clearly wasn't seasoned before it was fried and the sauce was salty and filled with ketchup. Although it was cheap it wasn't the best. There are other local eats just as cheap that taste a whole lot better.
