The staff o the Visitor Centre side were extremely helpful, going out of their way to help us find a B&B for the night. They did this in cramped, poorly designed space, but they remained cheerful and helpful even though it was late in the day and just before the Canada Day long weekend.
The museum is desperately in need of an overhaul. There are interesting items, but they need to be displayed properly and interpreted, and in some cases, cleaned. This was about our 6th museum on this BC road trip, so we had recent comparisons. Even the little museum in Clinton did a better job of display and interpretation.
I think the town also needs to consider adding a crosswalk in front of the museum/Visitor centre, as you take your life in your own hands crossing the busy street if you have had to park on the opposite side. It wouldn't hurt to slow traffic down all together to create a hospitable pedestrian-friendly environment on the main drag to encourage shopping and lingering. It would be great for business. Lillooet has an up side that i would love to see encouraged.
