“Excellent food, friendly service.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2013

Came in for breakfast on our first morning travelling to Skye and thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful. We had the full scottish breakfast and a lorne scottish roll, delicious! Came back the next day for lunch and had the smoked salmon pasta and a HUGE plate of fresh langoustines, well we were astounded by the quality of food again. The young waitress (Australian i think) was very bright and welcoming, an absolute scream! We will definitely return for the food and outstanding service. Good luck with your new venture!

“Perfection in simplicity”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2013 via mobile

Simple looking place but the food was perfect. I had the full scotch breakfast and a latte. My husband had muesli and natural yoghurt. It was cooked to a high standard, but a low price.

Service was good.

“Lunch in Mallaig”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2013

Went to the mission cafe for lunch and was not disappointed. Had the seafood chowder which was packed full of local fish and seafood, perfectly cooked. Accompanied by what was obviously homemade bread. Fantastic. Will be back to sample the rest of the menu.

“Straightforward with good service and honest prices.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

Visited the Cafe Last Sunday for a spot of lunch. The waitress was friendly and attentive (possibly from New Zealand?).
Menu was uncomplacated and looked to be contain good honest food with a right few fish option which was nice being located in Mallaig.
Cafe is clean and tidy and staff were very helpful.
I ordered the Monkfish in beer batter and was pleasantly surprised by the size of the portion that I received as Monkfish would have been twice the price in Glasgow. My wife ordered the chowder and again wasnt disapointed. My daughter took one bit of a cheese sandwich and refused to eat any more of it as it had a spicy chutney on it.... Not the best idea Mr Chef for a childrens menu. This small issue was cleared up with the waitress and kindly they didnt charge us for her meal.
Very good service which I feel kinda bad about accepting TBH as it turns out that out daughter was actually unwell and wouldnt have eaten anything that day.

Wishing you all the best with your venture.

I will return the next time i'm on holiday

Thanks

“Make sure you visit!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

We went into the Mission Cafe on a Sunday morning for a decent cooked breakfast during a camping holiday with two hungry, moaning weans in tow. Although it was very early, we were given a warm welcome by the girl behind the counter, given the best cup of coffee we'd had our whole trip, and then served a fabulous breakfast which kept us stuffed until dinner. We often frequented to Fisherman's Mission on our previous visits to Mallaig and so were pleased to see that the good quality and value has continued in it's absence. We will back again and again. It is not as boldly advertised as some of the other eateries in Mallaig, but it would a shame for it to be overlooked as it is a wee gem of a place. We were just disappointed to find it on our last morning.
