“Small and beautiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2013

This restaurant offers everything a good bistro should: delicious and imaginative food in an informal atmosphere, served by lovely and friendly staff. My partner started with whitebait whilst I had paté. We then shared a superb half lobster. The Sauvignon at less than £20 was excellent. We were very amused by the provision on each table of a vintage copy of an Oor Wullie or Broons Annual! Altogether a magical evening.

“A memorable evening at the Bistro”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013

In June I held a small party for 16 friends and family thanks to Steve who reserved the use of the restaurant for our sole use. We had a marvelous evening the food was quite exceptional (the langoustine were to die for) and all the guests thought the food was fantastic, the service was first class and very friendly and I think we would all have stayed eating and talking most of the night had we and the staff not needed to get home to our beds! Thank you all for a marvelous and memorable evening.

“Best Food Of The Holiday!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2013

We, unfortunately, only found this little gem on the last night of our holiday....but, what a fantastic find. Had we found it sooner we'd certainly have gone there several times.

I loved the blackboards filled with all the goodies on offer, and the fairy lights twinkling away created a lovely atmosphere.

The staff are extremely friendly and the food is absolutely fantastic. The Langoustines were first class, the Fried Whitebait - something so rarely seen nowadays - wonderful and our mains of chicken stuffed with black pudding and pork with bacon absolutely delicious.

10/10 for very friendly service, a really lovely setting and fantastic food..

“Trip advisor recommendation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2013

Good reviews from trip advisor regarding this little gem convinced us to give it a try. Both the meal and the service were excellent. If you are up in Scotland around Lochcarron then don't hesitate to have a meal here. Steak night is Wednesday. My husband had steak and I had smoked haddock with steamed vegetables. Perfect.
