“Great food, wonderful athmosphere - Just go there!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 weeks ago

Since early 2013, when we mioved to Aberdeenshire from Edinburgh, we've been searching for the place that we all seek- excellent food, friendly helpful people running it and an athmosphere that makes you feel at home. Last Friday - November, a much belated visit to the Kildrummy Inn- we found it. Very welcoming, fire burning in the bar, quite a busy restaurant, concise very good menu and reasonably priced wines and super friendly staff. A nice special touch- not on the menu a small coffee cup of amazing root vegatble soup- We left feeling a bit smug and will be back ahead of Christmas.

Room Tip: Don't be put off by the dark road and slightly greay building- it is great inside. We live local...

This is Donside's best kept secret. Outstanding food with lots of flavour. Amazing value for money and a very welcoming service. A real treat to have somewhere as high quality as this in the neighbourhood.

Kildrummy Inn was recommended to me and didn't disappoint. Staying in the area for a weeks salmon fishing, nothing was too much trouble and the recent addition of some excellent fishing water makes this a perfect stop for the angler - with rod room and owners who fish, even helping source a gillie.
But there is more, a restaurant that has one of Scotland's finest chefs as one of the owners. Our party ate the finest local produce with a variety of dishes to suit all tastes. After a superb breakfast, (with offer of a packed lunch) the welcome at the Inn and comfortable surroundings was perfect after a long day. Great rooms made sleep easy!
If you stay elsewhere, visit the Inn to eat, but book as they are busy. If staying, you will not be disappointed by the efforts of the new owners.

Room Tip: Book early as they only have four rooms.

A gem of a restaurant. If you are in the area then this is a must visit. The chef produced superb food, the staff were attentive and the decor combination of leather chairs and an stove fire in the bar, with the modern look in the restaurant, worked for me.

A great night was had. You cannot ask for more than that.

I might visit the relatives in Aberdeenshire again, just to go back.

On Monday 6th October my sister and I were passing The Kildrummy Inn mid morning and in the middle of a torrential downpour, when we called in for coffee. We were told by the chef/proprietor that it had closed after breakfast service, until 6pm, but he quickly rustled up some delicious coffee and home made fudge, apologising as he did so that the open fire was not on! The following day apparently was a year since he had taken over the business. If this is a sample of the customer service and hospitality, the business can only go from strength to strength, and if I am back in the area I will be sure to stay.

This delightful inn with 5 comfortable and clean rooms is situated on a quiet road with easy access to the many castles in this beautiful area. Entrance is through the comfortable, small bar (with a large selection of malt whiskies) which doubles as reception. Both Nigel and award winning chef David, who took over the hotel last year, are extremely welcoming and ensure guests' comfort. Good food is an unforgetable bonus, with innovatory dinner dishes of locally sourced produce, and a good selection of breakfast dishes - but I could not resist three mornings of plump kippers with bacon! Certainly at weekends dinner reservations should be made for this popular restaurant. An excellent hotel base to explore the area
