“Halloween event”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013

had loads of activities for my children, the guided tour of the house was amazing. The allotments were really interesting too. The craft fayre was an added bonus. As national trust members this is one of the best activities we have been to all year. The staff were amazing and knowledgeable and were really helpful when questions were asked. the day was geared for all age groups and we had a really enjoyable day and hope to go again next year.

“Big House no thrills”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2012

This is a site for the real history buff/person. Several hundred yards away was the site of a 5th century battle where several (as many as 5) pretenders to the tittle of High King of Ireland died. Springhill is a planter mansion and the demonstrations are couched in this manner forgetting the older significance of this site. Having said this it is worth seeing the devolpment of Anglo Irish society?
As you stand in the gardens you may be able to see Sliabh Gallon of the song Sliabh Gallons Braes. History or what?
