“Very friendly staff, excellent meal. well worth the visit!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2011

We are regular restaurant visitors in the area and have been for years. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the service was immpecable, we were greeted by friendly staff on the bar and when receiving our meals the waiting staff were more than helpfull.
The portions were more than ample and the quality matched the prices. we all went home very happy which is not always the case when visiting other establishments in the area, no doubt one of the best meals we have had in a long time. we will definatly returning on a regular basis as we felt we had not wasted a penny. great meal!

“After 25 years going the Fox - That's it now - NO MORE”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2011

Been going here on and off for over 25 years even been to Xmas dinners and spent 1000's. The pub is now run by mature members of staff on behalf of the owners and to be honest some give the impression they couldn't give a damn. The youngsters who serve and the older male bar supervisor are all great and can't do enough. Bar meals are quite expensive and all portion controlled. I cannot believe the reviews on here about large portions. Chips come in those wire baskets and you can count them on two hands. Been for a carvery this evening (Fri 21st Oct ) and the young girl on the food till went to fetch a long standing member of staff from the kitchen to serve. Well she seemed not too pleased to have to serve and was far from friendly to say the least. Our plates were half empty with about 4 carrots and you would need a magnifying glass to see the cabbage. We sat down to eat and whilst we were eating a mature couple sat near us with carveries piled high. I asked him who served him and he said the male member of staff in his 40's. I then saw this member of staff and commented that we had virtually child's portions (at £9 each). Anyway he went and fetched us a plate full of veg and potatoes. Great bloke couldn't do enough. Problem is that the lady who served us has been there many years and we have never had issues with her before. The Fox used to be packed on a Friday night. Perhaps the owners ought to question why this is not now the case. Can I suggest that since every other carvery in the UK has self service on veg, then at least this would eliminate the problem we encountered. AS for certain staff who are running the place thats another matter. The male member of staff saved us from having a bad night so maybe make him the boss. Been going every week but no more. We will spend our money elsewhere.

“First class”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2011

We have been for Sunday carvery several times and cannot fault the food, quantity or anything else, although strictly speaking is not a carvery as you are served by the staff.

“The most helpful staff of ANY restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2011

The food was really good quality and value for money with a varied interesting menu. The place was clean and the service was first rate - friendly and courteous with out being overbearing. A first rate pub restaurant.

My wife and I visited with my mother in law who uses a wheelchair and the lack of a disabled toilet was a serious problem. In order to get the wheelchair to the ladies' loo, my wife had to make a long trek and when they reached the loo there was not enough room to manoeuvre the wheelchair conveniently. The staff however were superb and suggested easier routes and held doors whenever necessary.

When we raised this problem with the management, they were sympathetic and explained that they had plans to refurbish all the toilets (which currently are pleasantly 70's retro!) and install state-of-the-art disabled facilities in the near future.

“huge portions of great home cooked food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2011

My family love the Foxhouse Inn. The staff really take pride in their jobs and service to the customer. The place itself is very clean. We ate there on a Friday when they have a carvery which serves massive portions but we chose to order from the very varied menu. Three of us had the fillet steak which was fantastic quality cooked medium with blue cheese melted on top...heaven. My husband had the lasagne and cleared the plate in record time. The dessert menus are great but we were just too full to order one. They also have a very good wine menu. Keep up the good work.
