The hotel is currently undergoing substantial refurbishment. I stayed here with a colleague and we both stayed in newly decorated and furnished superior rooms - beautifully styled and redecorated, but the hairdryer in my bathroom did not work. There was also no telephone for me to contact reception about the noise from the room below, from around 7pm to 11pm, which I believe to have been the builders' social area. Did not feel safe enough to go down to reception to mention this in person. Feel that due to the building site areas of the hotel in which to pass, the price should have been a lot lower than the £85 I paid for my room and breakfast. Breakfast was disappointing - room smelt of beer and we had to ask for cereal dishes. The cutlery and crockery were also dirty and stained. Believe that staff may be coping as best they can under the circumstances, but I feel it would really be best if the hotel was closed until refurbishment is complete.
