We went to Wookey Hole Caves on Sunday 5th August. It was a rainy day so I was surprised to see how busy it was, we had to park a bit away from the entrance but at least there was no queing for tickets. We managed to find 'kids go free' vouchers so instead of a family ticket costing £49!, we paid £32 which is a more realistic price.
We went to the caves first which was great, dark and spooky and the guide was informative but not too much to bore the kids. You come out of the caves and into the gardens, the kids loved the giant gorilla and dinosaurs and we had some pictures taken as cavepeople which is fun!
Next we went to the Circus Show which was my favourite part of the day, the children were so talented and the show was very professional and entertaining. By now, we were a bit short on time so we rushed off to get some food. We went to the Witch's Kitchen and I would say to give this a miss, the food was terrible and overpriced, not sure what the other restaurant was like but I would maybe pay a bit more to eat here or take a packed lunch.
The kids then spent some time in the indoor play area which was great, they would have stayed there all day! It has a Wizards Castle theme and a big tunnel that runs from one room to another which is a novelty for the kids.
Before home, we spent some time in the penny arcade which was fun but a lot of the machines weren't working, we also had fun in the mirror tunnel, I was happy to escape without walking into a wall! We didn't use the golf or panning of gold as theses incurred extra charges but they looked good.
To sum up, we had a good day, with plenty to keep us occupied but I still think it is overpriced.
