Wanted a hotel just to sleep in for one night over the weekend in or around Wells. Almost gave up due t the high prices. Then found this for just under £50.00. Checked it out on here and thought for that price it'll do. It was fine - absolutely what we needed. Efficient friendly staff on reception, a big clean room with bathroom, quiet and relatively comfortable bed. Definitely not luxury but excellent value for money and in a great location. Ate in the Inn opposite and had a really great meal. Aimed at families with small children, pirate night when we were there, but due to the number of small kids it was a very quiet night. Would we do another convenience stay? Most definitely

Booked last minute we Basicly just wanted a cheap deal in or around Somerset. The hotel is only recently built and is modern, clean and comfortable. Rooms are spacious and clean, bed mattress is very firm and alittle uncomfortable but nothing to serious.

We didn't eat at the hotel but did in local pubs and cafe which would recommend as the food was great.

All in all the hotel is a family hotel but we were not overly bothered by kids. The hotel is great for afew nights and good as a base to go exploring from with caves, gorges, cheese and glasto nearby!!

I must start by saying myself, my friend and my 2 kids (4&7) have just had an amazing two days at Wookey Hole.
The attractions are perfect for small kids although a little dated in some parts. There is a huge amount of things to do and if it's raining the kids can still be kept amused for hours.
The hotel is clean, entertainment in the evening performance was great, room was spacious (superior family room), food was pretty good (pirate banquet).
The one, and only, thing wrong with our stay was the unhelpful staff member who greeted us when we arrived. We arrived at 1:30pm and when we walked in she just told us, in a very rude way, that we couldn't check in till 3, which was fine but didn't offer any other help what so ever. I had to ask about storing our luggage which she seemed to think was a stupid question. Then after we found the storage room (no help from her) we walked outside a little lost as really had no idea what we were meant to do about tickets etc as we had booked it through the hotel. We ended up going back in and asking the receptionist again about tickets. She then, in bed very grumpy manner, gave us tickets and stickers to wear but why on earth she hadn't given them to us and explained about the activities when we first spoke us beyond me. Are we expected to know everything and be the ones to ask her every question? She couldn't even muster up enough enthusiasm to tell us where each of the attractions were and we ended up missing the 4-D cinema. Luckily we asked a much friendlier lady the following day and she gave us detailed directions and told us all about the different places we had missed the first day, if it hadn't been for this second receptionist we would have missed out 1/3 of the activities including a fantastic circus show.
I really think that if you want to work in a big standard hotel where all you have to do is check people in and out then that is where the first staff member should be, her lack of costumer service really put a downer on the first day but luckily the rest of the staff and the overall experience and place itself, well made up for her attitude and bad manners.
A few lessons in customer survive wouldn't go a miss.
Entertainment staff were excellent in the pirate show and circus.
Well worth the 3 hours drive and every penny.

Stayed with my husband and 4 year old daughter and the hotel matched expectations. It is a budget type hotel similar to travelodge type place but it's clean and comfy and we had a good nights sleep. We went on a deal and had park tickets too and we all had a good day. The food in the park is quite pricey but that really is our only complaint. I would say this is a family type hotel so wouldn't really suit couples especially.

Booked this hotel mainly due to its proximity to the Mendip Hills and Wells, and was pleasantly surprised at how good it is. Large quiet, well-equipped room with sofa, chair and comfy bed - friendly staff, decent bathroom and shower. Had a jolly nice break with the other half. The restaurant downstairs isn't amazing but the food is pretty good. And it's right next to the Wookey Hole Caves, which is worth a visit. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: Eat at the Wookey Hole Inn across the road instead. The food is phenomenal!

Large rooms, big beds, modern hotel on the Wookey Caves site. Best rooms are the ones overlooking the park. We had room 18 which overlooks the kitchen, so got the fans going all night. Room had french windows - bit big for leaving open at night, but noise of fans precludes that. Could do with fan to put in the room as it was hot.
Shower was good, soap dispensers were labelled Dove (which is scentfree), but had coconut scented soap in them.
Dinner and Breakfast are extra, but that keeps the room price down.

Room Tip: Park views are quieter. Avoid 32, which overlooks kitchen fans.
