“We could not have made a better choice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2013

We needed an overnight stay in Ingleton and chose Riverside from the internet. We are very familiar with Ingleton, although not this particular establishment. We could not have made a better choice. We met Andrew in the rear garden and were soon seated in the lounge with tea and strawberry jam, cream and scones. Bang went my wife's diet! Our room was most comfortable with a view down to the river, a place I had to visit before we left. It's a steep, stepped path down to the river but if you are able, well worth the effort. I managed a game of pool and then we walked to the centre of the village where we had our evening meal. From the front of the house Ingleborough mountain is in plain view, although the next morning a cloud on top of the mountain hid it from our site. How did we manage to cram so much into an overnight stay? After a hearty breakfast we set off the next morning. Thanks to Andrew and Debbie for making just an overnight stay so memorable and enjoyable.

Room Tip: Rear of the house looks down to the river, the front looks across to Ingleborough

This was our first visit to the delightful Riverside Lodge. We chose it because of TripAdvisor recommendations and we were not disappointed. We were greeted by Andrew who welcomed us with tea and cakes. We stayed in Lilac and our granddaughters stayed in Lavender. Both rooms were immaculately prepared. Our bed was very comfortable. The room was quiet and the attention to detail was impressive. Breakfast was everything you could reasonably want and all the other guests we met were friendly and most were regular visitors to the Riverside. Debbie and Andrew are excellent hosts. We have already booked another visit and could easily become regulars. A great find. If your are in the area, give it a try.

This is by far one of the best bed and breakfasts that I have stayed in, the rooms were excellent and had all equipment that one would need. Debbie and Andrew were excellent hosts and went out of their way to make our stay a memorable one.
Debbie's home made muesli must be the best in the country's
We will definitely return on our next trip to Yorkshire
Every morning the fresh fruit selection was as good as any five star hotel

We stayed for three nights in July in the Lavender room, which is on the first floor, at the front, overlooking the road (not too busy or noisy) and surrounding hills. We had a friendly welcome and found our room with nice touches such as little chocolates on the towel selection.
It is a good size room although with a low window sill and no net curtain the draw back is the lack of privacy unless the curtains are drawn.
The facilities in the room were excellent, with a good selection of beverages, a shoes cleaning kit, hair drier, extra blankets and even hot water bottles and a spare heater for the winter (although the central heating and double glazing looked more than adequate).
The bed was comfy, if a little creaky, and the linen good quality and beautifully presented. There was good storage with a wardrobe and chest of drawers plus bedside cabinets.
The en-suite was very well decorated with good quality fittings and plenty of storage for toiletries. Both bath and shower were provided, and although the latter was recessed into an alcove, the lack of a short screen meant it was not easy to avoid water spraying outside the bath.
The B&B backs onto the river and has an immaculate garden, with steps leading down to the water and a swing seat to enjoy the sun in the upper garden.
Breakfast is served in the conservatory looking out over the garden and surrounding hills. The room is immaculately presented with Portmeirion tableware and a superbly laid out selection of fresh fruit, cereals, yoghurt and home roasted muesli and home-made marmalade and lemon curd. The cooked breakfast was good with the usual full range of choices.
The hosts were very friendly and helpful and the information provided in each room was very extensive. There is also a lovely guest lounge, games room and a sauna.
The location was initially a little tricky to find because the postcode pointed our sat nav to the other end of "Main Street" which is quite long and partly a one-way system, but when you figure it out, it is easy to get to. The B&B has its own car park for 5 vehicles which is handy because on-road parking is limited.
Overall an excellent B&B with the hosts going to great lengths to make it special, and visibly succeeding with several returning guests during our stay. One or two little areas for improvement, but not to its overall detriment.
We would definitely recommend this place to other people and would happily come back again.

A wonderful place to stay. Excellent hosts, fantastic breakfast - especially the homemade muesli and the bacon. We could not find one fault with the place and will stay here again when in the area. We stayed in Primrose which was enormous to rooms we've had in other B&Bs where we've paid twice the price. "Value for money" is a complete understatement. Well done Andrew and Debbie for such a pleasurable visit.

Room Tip: Primrose had a beautiful view but I imagine all the rooms probably have good views.

June 20 2013

just returned from a 2 night stay at the Riverside lodge, which was a real friendly and relaxing place to stay. Our accommodation was the Snowdrop room, which was located in the adjourning coaching house. It was quite small, but decorated really well, and was very comfortable and clean, towels, toiletries , hairdryer, tea/coffee , hot chocolate/horlicks were provided as well as biscuits. The showeroom/toilet was very clean and modern and freshly decorated, very impressed by its high standard of finish.

The breakfast was excellent, and set you up for the whole day. Good choice of food to choose from, which caters for every body. It was nice to sit around the table with the other guests, and we got to know them quite well, and were all very friendly, as were our hosts Andrew and Debbie Foley, who run a very good b and b! lovely location, 3 pubs in the village, the Three Horseshoes, seemed to be a good pub for food, and landlord and landlady very chatty and welcoming! (as were many people in the village we found!)

would definitely stay at this property again and would recommend to friends and family!

Andrew and Debbie Coulthard. East Yorkshire

Room Tip: snowdrop room faces the front of coach house property , but you get very little noise from road outs...
