This is by far the best Bird of Prey Centre we have visited. A large area with beautiful enclosures for a fantastic range of birds from all around the world including endangered species for conservation. An offshoot of the ICFBP further south it opened earlier this year and so is still not widely known. Admission is £8 for an adult but this allows you to go in and out all day and view 3 different flying demonstrations - so a day in Helmsley gives you 12 bird flights. The staff who do the flight shows are extremely well informed about the birds and have personal responsibility for training and care of them. They are incredibly knowledgable and obviously love the birds they care for - not just a job! Our 4 year old grandson was entranced - he had a favourite (the burrowing owl demo) and one of the raptors and insisted on returning in the afternoon to see it all again- and the following day! Not much grabs a 4 year olds attention like that - even on a damp Yorkshire say!
Can't praise this too much!
