“Superb”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

I echo all the wonderful comments about the rooms, cleanliness and breakfast, and Nicky and Brian who are the very best hosts. The location is perfect with great sea views from the front room. There's short stay parking outside and long stay behind the nearby lido.

A great little hotel where nothing was too much for Nicky and Brian the friendly owners.
Situated on the front in Teignmouth with, if you are a frontal room, an excellent see view. The only Devon hotel where I have been able to watch the yachts racing whist I have been lying on the bed.
The breakfasts were quality and were even cooked early just to suit my business schedule.
Parking was inconvenient as the traffic wardens were often in evidence on the front although here was a public car park within a few minutes walk.
The room was always clean and the consumables always replaced.
There was no bath just a shower with plenty of hot water.
A couple of moans, no desk with chair from which to work and a rather small flat screen TV although the one in the lounge was more than adequate.
I like this place. I'll be back

Perfect location, just next to the beach, lido and at the quieter end of town. Easy to park in the town car park 2 minutes walk away and only £2.90 a day. Excellent, friendly owners Nicola and Brian made our stay perfect. Super family room, very comfortable and clean. Children made very welcome which made our beach break unfaultable in every way. Would definitely return again next year, just hope we can have wall to wall sunshine again next year please. Thank you xxxxxxxx

Nicky and Brian go out of their way to help you, from making you a coffee, to making sure the wi-fi is connected! The rooms are very clean and comfortable and serviced daily. Breakfast is included in the price and is delicious and freshly cooked with lots of choice. Second year of visiting with Nicky and Brian as owners and will be returning next year!

Both Brian and Nicky (owners) made us very welcome and helpful. Room was very clean with a bathroom ensuite and close to the sea front. Breakfast was included with the room and Brian (master chef) was able to provide us with an excellent choice cooked to our requirements. Bar facility also available with a goopd choice of drinks. All in all both owners would "go a mile" to accomodate your requirements. Highly recommended. We have already pre-booked for next year's golf festival.

Room Tip: Very quiet all round.

We stayed overnight on Saturday 30th June and had a very enjoyable stay. We were met and shown to our room by Brian who was very welcoming. He was apologetic about the fact that our room was not en-suite but as we had exclusive use of a bathroom just down the corridor this was not a problem, especially as the room did have a small sink and vanity unit as well.
The room and bathroom were immaculate and we could not fault it.
Breakfast the next morning was excellent with quality food and very attentive service.
Loaction was great - a very short walk to the centre and on the seafront. Car parking was 2 minutes walk away in a Council car park but was only £2.90 for 24 hours.
I would certainly put htis at the top of our list to book if we are visiting this area again.

Room Tip: Room 5 has a separate exclusive bathroom - reflected in the price and not a problem for us. If you p...

We have just spent a three night stay at the Thornhill Hotel, quietly located overlooking the sea.
We arrived a little early but were welcomed by the delightful housekeeper who is credit to the propriotors. We were taken to our room which was perfect with a sea view, a huge kingsize bed with a wonderfully comfortable matress. Brian and Nicola go that extra mile by providing those little extras in your room like shower gel, bath robes and beautifully soft towels, tea making facilites with 5* biscuits and Hot chocolate, not expected at all. No expense spared!
Breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented in the very welcoming and bright dining room, nothing was too much trouble.
We decided to stay in this hotel due to its proximity to the train station, and were so pleased that we found this little gem and chose to stay here. We couldn't believe how quiet it was. We would definately return.

Room Tip: I would pay that little extra for a south facing seaview room.
