My first visit having passed by a number of times, this place is a bit of a reverse Tardis - smaller on the inside than I had expected. I see it opened in 2011 and consequently is much neater and well presented than most of the small museums I have previously visited. The displays were interesting and informative, particularly regarding shipping and shipbuilding, and the strange voyage of Donald Crowhurst.
I feel a little churlish only giving an average score, possibly I missed a little of the clutter that can accumulate in an older museum, and missed having a chat with the staff.
