“Modern and ideally situated”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2013

Food quality good but a little on the expensive side. Also, portions could have been a little more generous

“Disappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

Came here on a Saturday evening, with sea shanty singers as entertainment. The restaurant was busy and had a nice atmosphere. We were seated quickly and drinks arrived fairly promptly. We had burgers and fries from the menu and mackerel salad from a specials board and a garlic focaccia to share to start. The focaccia was raw in the centre but the cooked bits were nice. Conversely, the burgers were both overcooked and dry. The chips were lovely and also the coleslaw. Perhaps we should have mentioned this to the staff, but it was the last night of a family holiday and the sea shanty singers were in full flow so we didn't really want to make a fuss. Last time I reviewed this restaurant I said it was the best meal of our stay. Not so this time. The singers were excellent.

“Nice setting next to the harbour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013 via mobile

Nice meal at Amelies, good service and friendly staff. The tomato and basil soup was excellent, as were the portion sizes. I had the linguine which was OK but I would have preferred the parmesan cheese offered seperately rather than put on before serving.
The price of the courses we had were not too bad, £10 for a large pizza, similar for the burger, the crayfish linguine £15. There are several restaurants in Porthleven so we will try the others before going back to Amelies, however would go again in the future.

“Nice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

Loved the friendliness of staff and the fact you can have a coffee here in the morning. The menus look very tasty and fresh, local produce is used. A nice light location and good looking bar as well makes for a very pleasant visit

“Excellent - well worth a visit!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013 via mobile

Staff friendly and very welcoming. Food divine! Scallops - £10 for three as a starter was disappointing a few more at that price please, but the smoked salmon and prawn salads the others had better value and portion size. Mains - we had seafood pizza - fantastic! Clam linguine with pancetta delish! The Crayfish pasta dish also divine! Staff were wonderful 5 star and the location - a must visit we will be back!
